Facing elimination, St. Joseph’s sent Ryan Aloise to the hill in hopes of keeping their season alive.

The junior went out and performed as well as anyone could have hoped–firing a CG shutout, allowing just five hits in a game that lasted just 1 hour and 48 minutes. He lowered his ERA for the season to 2.03 and won his eighth game while advancing the Golden Eagles in the tournament.

"stcharles"

The Golden Eagles offense was dormant through the first four innings but broke through in the fifth with all the offense Aloise would need.

Dan Campanelli hit a one-out single to get the rally started. Ryan Walsh moved him to second with a single of his own. After James Nakashian sacrificed them both up a base, Anthony Bonilla had the biggest hit of the game with a two-run triple to right field to give the Golden Eagles a 2-0 lead.

Brendan Sullivan stayed red-hot with an RBI single to increase the lead to 3-0.

"b4b"

Aloise allowed just a single in the sixth inning, a walk in the seventh inning and fired 1-2-3 eighth inning to put himself in position to finish what he started.

After walking the leadoff hitter in the ninth, Coach Garrett stuck with him and it paid off. He induced an infield popout, a fly ball to center before a single brought the tying run to the plate.

The damage occurred as Aloise retired the final batter on a flyout to center.

The Golden Eagles compiled nine hits in the game. Bonilla, Joseph Lynn and Dan Campanelli all had two hits.

They will play tomorrow at 10am against the loser of TCNJ and La Roche. Expect Josh Outsen to get the nod for the Golden Eagles.
