Aside from Adelphi’s shocking upset, there were two other games on Wednesday. The Stony Brook Sea Wolves crushed NYIT 15-4 to improve to 28-15 and drop the Bears to 4-42.

Kevin Courtney highlighted the Sea Wolves offense with a 5-for-6 day, including hitting for the cycle. It was the first time a Stony Brook player accomplished the feat since 2006. His first hit of the day was a three-run home run to right field to open up the scoring. The Sea Wolves did not stop there, they ultimately compiled 19 hits; Kevin Krause also had an extraordinary day with three hits, three runs scored, four RBI and two HR. Jack Parenty also hit a HR, hit first collegiate long ball. Jeremy Giles, Johnny Caputo and Cole Peragine all had multi-hit games. Josh Barry recorded the win for the Sea Wolves, he went five innings and yielded only one run.

The bright spot for the Bears was that Nick Sebastian hit his third home run of the season. They will take on Delaware St. this weekend.

The Sea Wolves will take on UMBC this weekend in a three-game set.

Hofstra lost 2-1 to Wagner to fall to 18-21. The lone runs came in the third inning off Hofstra starter Graham Tebbit, who falls to 1-4 on the season. He went four innings and was relieved by Brendan Mulligan, Cody Normand and Kevin Weissheier.

The Pride offense was stagnant. They scored their only run in the fourth inning on a double by Brad Witkowski.

Wagner starter Austin Goeke was awarded the win despite throwing only 3.2 innings.

Hofstra will take on the College of Charleston this weekend in a three game set.
