After finishing atop the 2023 regular season standings and falling one game short of their first championship since 2019, the Aviators have struggled to find their footing early on. In their last game before the upcoming All-Star Break, the Aviators sought to ignite a spark for the remainder of the summer. Fueled by a stellar complete game from Charlie Aurandt (St. Joseph’s LI) and a barrage of seven unanswered runs, the Aviators soared past the Sag Harbor Whalers...

They struggled in all facets, ranking last in runs scored and first in runs allowed. However, 2024 has ushered in a fresh start for North Fork under new head coach Vinnie Morelli. With a nearly complete roster overhaul, retaining only two players from last year, North Fork has surged to the top with an impressive 8-4 record heading into today’s game. In...

by Chris Donnelly In a Hamptons League Matchup between the Shelter Island Bucks and the Westhampton Aviators there was more than enough offense as the Bucks won 19-8 with a total of 27 runs scored. Luke Mistone started the game for the Aviators striking out 2 in the first and a caught stealing from catcher Waldier Perez to keep the Bucks off the board. Jacob Nolan took the ball for the Bucks and started off strong with a strikeout but, then struggled to find the zone proceeding to walk the next 2 batters. A double steal leading to a throwing error would start and end the scoring for the Aviators in the 1st inning giving them a 1-0 lead heading to the 2nd inning. The 2nd inning would be quiet for both teams, they both failed to push any runs across sending the game to the 3rd inning. ...

Michael DiForte was given the start today and his offense wasted no time to give him run support. After DiForte sent down the top of the Breakers’ lineup Nick Ungania, Johnny Catuosco, and Ty Gilligan in order. The next time he went out to the mound he had a 3-run cushion. That cushion stemming from the bottom of the 1st as the Aviators got to Southampton’s starter Louis Stallone early. Luke Mistone who was batting 2nd, walked, advanced on a wild pitch, and...

This game was tightly-contested throughout with a lot of big moments that changed the course of the game. The scoring took a couple of innings to get started as the First innin...
For the fourth time in franchise history, the Westhampton Aviators are Hamptons League Champions. The 2019 championship adds to their collection of titles form 2009, 2011, and 2016. Westhampton defeated the Riverhead Tomcats in game 1 on Monday, putting themselves in position to clinch the title on the road. The Tomcats sent NYIT’s Bobby Vath to the mound in an attempt to force a decisive game three. Vath was the Hamptons League regular season leader in strikeouts and ERA, as he put together one of the most dominant resumes in the league. Vath worked through a leadoff single from Dan Franchi (Binghamton) and got three groundball outs to end the top of the first inning...
