St. Mary’s sophomore Miguel Sime Jr, a flame-throwing RHP announced his verbal commitment to Louisiana State University. Sime has been up to 94 MPH but typically sits 89-92 MPH. He is head & shoulders above the average velocity for his age group and clearly LSU is willing to bet on that. He put together some video game numbers that would make Rickey Henderson jealous. He batted .484 with a .590 OBP, 1.214 OPS, scored 51 runs and drew 23 walks against just 7 strikeouts. Coming off their third straight CHSAA Championship – and winning the first NYS CHSAA Championship in history – they are one of the premiere programs in the northeast.
