Logan Lamberson shows his pop with an opposite field homer pic.twitter.com/21Wg0UXZxs — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) December 16, 2024 2024 was a tremendous season for Logan Lamberson. He batted .541 (98-for-181), with 20 doubles, 8 triples, 34 HRs, 124 RBIs, 104 runs scored, 60 walks and 60 stolen bases. Just a remarkable season by any metric, even if much of it occurred on the small fields. He did show a glimpse of the future in the fall when h...

All 15 strikeouts from Fred Klauck’s no-hitter pic.twitter.com/eBMLf8gkF0 — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) December 9, 2024 Fred Klauck burst onto the scene this fall when he fired a no-hitter with 15 Ks for Next Level in the Northeast Elite finals against a very talented Blue Line Rangers team. Klauck is a sophomore at Mineola HS with his sights set on making the varsity club in the spring. With a high-octane fastball that touched 85 in the fall, that is certain...

(This is the fifth installment of the popular “Up Next” Series in which we highlight the top underclassmen on Long Island. Previously, we featured Dylan Weinstein, Jaxson Torres, Richie Roberts and Joe Maxwell. Special thanks to Ken Kortright State Farm Agency for sponsoring this series.) St. Dominic HS took the league by storm during the 2024 regular season, securing the No. 1 seed in the postseason thanks in large part to their dominant 1-2 punch of Victor Frederick and Luke Lang as well as their bevy of freshmen and sophomores that proved that they were ready for the challenge of the Catholic League. One of those young players in particular was infielder Dom Muccia who batted leadoff and did more than held own – he went All-League becoming the first St. Dom’s fre...

(This is the fourth installment of the popular “Up Next” Series in which we highlight the top underclassmen across Long Island. Previously, we featured Dylan Weinstein, Jaxson Torres and Richie Roberts. Special thanks to Ken Kortright State Farm Agency for sponsoring this year’s feature.) Defense up the middle is valuable commodity in the game of baseball. While every coach wants their team to be flawless defensively, they prioritize being strong defensively at catcher, middle infield and center field. This year, Joe Maxwell provided that for Beast 2027 National. He not only provided some highlight reel plays defensively, he was outstanding offensively. That type of player profile is very rare. Over the summer, he batted .412 with a .505 OBP, 9 doubles, 1 HR, 25 RBIs and ...

Up Next Powered by Ken Kortright State Farm Agency: Richie Roberts

Center Moriches is one of the true powerhouses in Suffolk County. They won back-to-back Class B Championships in 2018 and 2019 and captured the Long Island Championship in 2021. The talent pool is always deep in the school district and they have a penchant for calling up underclassmen that wind up playing impact roles at the varsity level. Last year, he featured JT Bonventre who was a 9th grader at the time, and this past year they had an 8th grader not only get called up but was a key contributor for them. His name is Richie Roberts, and he will be a big time player for the Red Devils for the next 4 seasons. Last year, he went 2-0 with a 1.65 ERA and 2 saves over 18 innings on the mound. Additionally, he committed just 1 error in 46 chances splitting time between 2B and SS. At the plate, ...

Jaxson Torres (‘27 NY) absolutely dominant for Body Armor Titans in the chip, went the distance and picked up 7 Ks w/ only 1 H allowed. A fraction of those have a chance to play two Division-I sports. Plainedge sophomore Jaxson Torres has a shot to be one of those. As a freshman, he was dynamite for the Red Devils – compiling a 2.26 ERA over 34 innings with 3 wins, 48 strikeouts and only 25 hits allowed. He started two playoff games and ...

(This is the first installment of the popular “Up Next” series. We will highlight the top underclassmen on Long Island every Monday during the offseason. Special thanks to Ken Kortright State Farm for sponsoring this year’s series.) Dylan Weinstein (‘28, NY) cranks this loud bomb to LCF, plating three. Minimal moving parts in his operation, with a quick leg lift and quick hands that fire the barrel through the zone w/ authority. #NewEngElite @PGYouthBB @PG_Tourney pic.twitter.com/fBSQahqTVJ — PG Mid Atlantic (NY, NJ, PA, MD,DE,DC) (@PGMidAtlantic) May 18, 2024 Like the New York Yankees, St. Dominic HS last reached the mountain top in 2009. That was when they last captured the Catholic League Championship, during that golden era of the CHSAA when every team seemingly had 5...

That was 6’6 RHP Greg Marino who went onto pitch at Stony Brook University, where he was a key cog for the Seawolves rotation before briefly playing pro ball in 2019. Before that, it was his brother in 2007 who went to play for Stony Brook and won an America East title before playing several years in the Frontier League. In between, Centereach did have back-to-back League III Championships in 2009 and 2010. It’s significant because it’s the last time the Cougars fin...

There was nothing soft about the contact that was coming off the bat of freshman Zach Rosenzweig (Plainedge 2024) yesterday. At one poin...

(Editor’s Note: This is the sixth installment of the popular ‘Up Next’ Series Powered by The Yard Sports Academy. In this series, we feature the best players on Long Island that have yet to appear in a varsity game. Previously, we featured Andrew Koshy, Josh Knoth, Chris Batuyios, Sebastian Lippman and TJ Bradford. Thank you for your continued interest.) When you’re looking to build a team, it’s important that you have a strong presence up-the-middle. New Mets GM Jared Porter specifically mentioned that in Monday’s press conference when discussing the needs of the Mets. They addressed that need on Saturday with the signing of free agent catcher James McCann. He’s a player that really improved his pitch framing (sixth in the MLB), he throws out 46 p...

Up Next Powered By The Yard Sports Academy: T.J. Bradford

When we partnered with Hofstra University to cover the New York Baseball Academy in 2017, the idea came up to present an Axcess Player of the Week Award to the top performing individual at each of the six weeks of the camp. The motivation behind the award was simple – pick the most talented individual that performed exceptionally well over the week. When the coaches were surveyed, there was a consensus No. 1 – T.J. Bradford. At the time, T.J. was just 10-years-old, but he was clearly deserving of the award. His stats match up to the eye test. Over the past three seasons, he has amassed a nearly unfathomable 108 home runs while playing on the small fields. When he was 11, he played 115 games and batted .581 with 116 runs scored 171 RBI over 291 at bats. The Hewlett naive is now ...

Caruso, Ithaca-commit Dan Kellachan, 6’4 Max Reichenbach and another stud 2023 RHP in Chris Batuyios.
