MacArthur is amidst an impressive spring, boasting a 16-4 record that secured them the No. 1 seed. GAME RECAP: Plainedge Defeats MacArthur In A Home-Opener Pitcher’s Duel

Plainedge defeated MacArthur, 1-0, at home in a non-league game to open the 2024 schedule.  Tyler Bonsignore was on the mound for MacArthur and he was near perfect. Bonsignore had two strikeouts in both the first and second inning and three in the third. He opened the fourth inning with his eighth strikeout of the day but Plainedge’s bats retaliated.  Bobby Wescott hit a solo home run to open the game’s scoring. Having said that, they did anything but struggle, going 13-7 and taking the eventual county champs to a Game 3 of the semifinals. Now that the team is healthy and the schedule is mostly back to normal, they have plenty of reasons for optimism in 2022. Of course, every year brings graduation, and most graduations bring losses.
