Ingram Throws 132 Pitches Over Eight Innings, 14 K Performance to Lead Old Westbury to 7-5 Victory

Photo Credit: Old Westbury Athletics After waiting nearly 2 hours to begin the game, Old Westbury took down No.2 Baldwin Wallace University 7-5 behind Tim Ingram‘s gutsy 132 pitch, 14-strikeout performance. “I was a little tired,” said the senior right hander. “I threw a lot of pitches and every pitch was max effort because I was throwing against a very good offensive team,” he added. Fortunately, the offense came to play today. Old Westbury took a 3-0 lead in the first inning on RBI singles by Dean Sheridan and Jonathan Pagan. Sheridan came around to score on a wild pitch. Ingram was downright nasty in the first four innings, striking out eight batters and allowing only two hits.  The Panthers opened it up with three more runs in the fifth thanks to an RBI tr...

Tim Ingram Wins Fourth Game of the Season Against St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn

By Jesse Borek The good: they managed to get in both legs of the doubleheader this afternoon at the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex in Westbury.  The bad: the rain that was rumored to hit the area did indeed soak those in attendance, making for less than ideal conditions.  Ultimately, the Old WestburyPanthers would split their two-game day against the St. Joseph’s (Brooklyn) Bears, winning the opener 7-1 in seven innings, and dropping the backend, 3-2 in eight innings.  “Timmy was big for us today,” said assistant coach Lou Bernardi, “Good to get the first one out of the way.”  Tossing his first complete game of the season in the opener was senior ace Tim Ingram.  Going the distance, Ingram would allow only a single run (albeit, an unearned one), while giving up five hits, walking none, a...

For the second time in a week, they have gotten their player voted No. 1 in Baseball on the Island’s March Awards. It is not to say that Cody McPartland is not deserving–his numbers certainly jump off the page. After yesterday’s seven inning outing against Queens, he is now 2-0, having thrown 27 innings, allowed only 6 ER (2.00 ERA), 20 hits, walked eight, allowed only one XBH and held the opposition to a .208 AVG. He has done a commendable job filling in for Tyler Badamo as the ace of the Golden Lions through one month of the season. “While losing the three starters we had last year are tough to replace, myself and a few others have stepped up t...

Old Westbury Puts Up Three Touchdowns on Mount St. Vincent’s
