By Thomas Cregan Centereach head coach Pete Cammarata is looking to take the next step and reach the postseason in 2022. In his first two years with the program coach Cammarata and his Centereach team barely missed the playoffs by just one game in both years. However, in 2021 the team took a step back and won four games, but Cammarata is not discouraged and is looking to build off the experience his players have gained and continue to make strides toward success in 2022. He described the 2021 season as a “hiccup” and he further stated, “Having a four-win season hurts and it’s really not something that you want to see, but this team has always been gritty and competitive, and we will be looking to our core group of seniors to perform better in 2022.” Centereach saw two key players depart f...

By Thomas Cregan Despite the loss of many key players from 2021 Westhampton Beach coach Asa Grunenwald is looking for another strong season out of his group in 2022. Westhampton posted a 9-9 regular season record in 2021 which propelled them to the playoffs. They would lose to Hills West 1-0 which coach Grunenwald called a heartbreaking way to end the season. However, he said that overall, it was a good year in which his team kept themselves in many close games and even their losses were close and always thrilling. The 2021 team was driven both offensively and on the mound by seniors and this year coach Grunenwald is looking to his group to step up and fill in the production that was provided by those players that graduated. Grunenwald mentioned four major contributors from the previous...

In his first year he brought up several freshman and sophomore players and hopes the experience they gained will benefit them for this upcoming season in 2022. West Babylon had two prominent graduates from the 2021 team. Center Fielder Cole Maucere will be their...
