Photo Credit: Vinny Messana Stony Brook swept a DH by the scores of 5-3 and 9-3 and have lowered their magic number to clinch the America East to 2. They lead UMBC by 3.5 games in the standings so any combination of Sea Wolve victories or UMBC losses that add to two will result in Stony Brook getting the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. There are four more regular season games to go. In the first game of the DH, Stony Brook was behind 3-2 after three innings, but tied it up in the fourth when Andruw Gazzolla started the inning off with a triple and he scored on Bobby Honeyman‘s sac fly. By winning the first two games of the series they had extended their winning streak to nine-straight games but it was thwarted on Sunday with a loss.In Game One, Tyler Honahan continued his strong season by pitching six innings, allowing one ER, allowing four hits, two walks while striking out five. He left with the game tied at 1 and did not factor in the decision, however.In the top of the ninth, the Sea Wolves broke the tie on an RBI single by Toby Handley to drive in Jeremy Giles.
