Jason Galbraith New Head Coach of Suffolk Community College

Jason Galbraith has been named the new Head Coach of Suffolk Community College, replacing Brian Klammer who was at the helm for one season. Eric Brown had been synonymous with the program, coaching Suffolk CC for 29-years, winning 685 games including 7 appearances in the NJCAA World Series. He received the 2017 Axcess Baseball Lifetime Achievement Award. Galbraith was the Pitching Coach last season, guiding the staff to a 3.11 team ERA and 11.2 K/9. During his playing career, he was 30-3 at Concordia College and was a second-team All-American in 2001. He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 46th round of the 2002 draft. If he was a secret before, he definitely was not a secret following his 16-strikeout, no-hitter over Suffolk CC last month. Suffolk Head Coach Brian Klammer called him the “best pitcher we’ve seen all year, hands-down”. He was siting 88-90 and touching 92 MPH with pinpoint command. And he’s available to any college that’s interested. Queensborough CC ace Ryan Sandberg went on to be named CUNYAC Pitcher of the Year after recording 90 strikeouts over 46 innings just a year removed from Tommy John Surgery. Nassau Advances to Winner’s Bracket Behind Minucci’s Strong Outing

Joe Minucci pitched a complete game shutout to give Nassau CC an 8-0 victory over Queensborough in game one of the Region XV conference tournament. Head Coach Larry Minor had nothing but positives to say about Minucci’s performance. “The greatest thing about Joe Minucci is that he has a heart of a lion,” said Minor. “He’s like our leader, our captain out there. The better thing is last year as a freshmen, he lost the same game here, to the same team. So now he came back, battled back and allowed us to get to the second round, he added.
