Even so, they were able to get hot at the right time and reach the CHSAA Finals against St. Anthony’s. Josey was a bright spot for the Titans. After getting called up from JV halfway through the season, all he did was go 12-for-38 (.316) with 2 doubles, 2 triples, 10 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He came through with a clutch game-tying hit in extra innings of the finals. This past week he announced his verbal commitment to Stony Brook University...

In this edition, we catch up with Greg Marino, a former standout pitcher at Centereach HS and Stony Brook University.) Standing 6’6 and throwing in the low 90s, Greg Marino was an intimidating presence on the mound for Stony Brook University. Following his collegiate career, Marino followed in his brother’s footsteps and played in the Frontier League with the Southern Illinois Miners for the 2019 season. But just like that, he decided his professional baseball career was done at the age of 22. Could he have continued? Sure...

Fall Ball Series Powered by Baseball Lifestyle: Stony Brook

DOGPILE SZN: COMMENCE 💪 🌊🐺 x @evangiordano12 pic.twitter.com/XZ21Ry4wgb — Stony Brook Baseball (@StonyBrookBASE) May 21, 2022 You can’t blame them for feeling like there’s some unfinished business. The seniors for the Stony Brook Seawolves have dealt with circumstances beyond their control for each of their previous three seasons of collegiate ball – COVID in 2020, the infamous “rainout” in the championship in 2021 and then the America East ruling that Stony Brook was ineligible to compete for the conference tournament in 2022. Each situation was different but frustrating in their own way. Last year seemed like the most avoidable, as the commissioner simply could’ve allowed the Seawolves to participate in the tournament, but ruled against it since they w...

The school’s Athletic Director, Shawn Heilbron, had the following statement: “I’m very excited to announce that Stony Brook University will join the Colonial Athletic Association. This invit...

Fall Ball Series Powered by East Coast S & P: Stony Brook University

Stony Brook HC Matt Senk is entering his 32nd season at the helm. Had a chance to speak with him after practice pic.twitter.com/xW2A2t8aV3 — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 25, 2021 It’s been about five months since the now-infamous ending to the 2021 season for Stony Brook in the America East Championship against NJIT. Leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning with the bases loaded and threatening to score more, it began raining. The game was called and it was expected they would complete it the following day, Sunday at 10am. Stony Brook entered the game with a record of 2-1 in the tournament and NJIT was 2-0 so Stony Brook would have to hold on to win and win again. But with the lead and home-field advantage it certainly wasn’t out of the realm of possibilit...
