by Jacob Infald In today’s fast paced environment, most baseball fans believe that the most exciting contests are those that are high scoring and fast paced. However, yesterday’s LI Boys of Summer 15U American division doubleheader between Titans Manzi and South Shore Elite proved just the opposite, that low scoring pitching duels can be just as exciting as a slugfest. In two games that featured dominant pitching from both squads the two teams tied game one 3-3, while the Titans came out on top, winning the second game 3-1. Game 1: We spoke with Aiden Prashad (Holy Trinity 2027). Aiden fired 6 and 2/3 innings for Titans Manzi and while the game did end in a tie, Prashad played great, striking out 11 and going 1-1 at the plate with a triple and two walks. pic.twitter.com/gSXvAWOVp3 — Axcess...
by Jacob Infald On the afternoon of June 16th, South Shore Elite Manfredo took on the Top Tier Aviators Navy in an exciting Father’s Day doubleheader for the Long Island Boys of Summer 13U American Division. After a competitive, back and forth afternoon of baseball, South Shore Elite won the first game 6-5 and the two squads ended up in a tie after game two, with a score of 8-8. Sean Gorey talks about what was working for him out on the mound. He only surrendered one run over four innings of work. He struck out five as well and worked out of multiple jams. pic.twitter.com/Z4A99EWpM1 — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) June 16, 2024 Game 1: In the first game, South Shore Elite was led by a great starting pitching performance from Sean Gorey. by Chris Donnelly At MacArthur High School, a 15u Boys of Summer matchup went back-and-forth but ended up in 6-6 draw after 5 innings of play due to rain. Six of the 12 combined runs occurred just in the 1st inning. The Seminoles loaded up the bases in the first inning. With 1 out, Zach Lam scored Ryan Jazylo with an RBI single. Nick Bodkin would then knock in another run with an RBI groundout and the Seminoles led 2-0. Chris Lonergan clears the bases with a double to make it 3-2 South Shore. Lonergan would later come around to score to make it 4-2 at the end of the 1st. pic.twitter.com/9bGjFLRTe8 — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) June 27, 2023 When the bottom half of the inning came, South Shore Elite would double the Seminole’s output by first loading the bases up themselves. by John Sullivan Ben Rose hits a 2 out 2 RBI walk off single to win it 5-4 for South Shore Elite pic.twitter.com/vJblLxrNlS — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) June 21, 2023 The Wednesday night Boys of Summer 15u matchup was one that pit two fundamentally strong teams against each other. Going into the game, South Shore Elite held an undefeated 5-0 record, while the LI Storm were 4-3-1. Alex Aramini got the ball for South Shore Elite, as he looked to help protect his team’s undefeated record. Early on, it was apparent that Aramini was the right choice to protect South Shore’s donut in the loss column. He had an easy 1-2-3 inning in the first inducing three straight ground outs. On the offensive side, Ben Arreaga got things started early for South Shore as he hit a lead off triple. This ...
by Brian Honka The South Shore Elite would take on the TC Blackhawks in a Boys of Summer 13U Championship game The Elite would get on the board early and not look back. They came out swinging getting 3 base hits in the bottom of the first with RBIs from Christian Orlandi, a line drive to left from Dylan Sollitto, and Colby Grzelaczyk. DJ Brodi would hit a fly ball that the wind took and kept taking deep enough for the runner from third to score giving the Elite a 4-0 lead after the first inning of play. An RBI single from Dylan Sollitto makes it 2-0 Elite pic.twitter.com/QURQ0IcBMn — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) November 6, 2022 The Blackhawks would try and come back as they were able to get a run across in the top of the 4th. This game took a little bit to get the action going but when it started, it never stopped. At the end of this first game of their scheduled double header, the Blue Devils ended up taking it by the score of 6-5. The game was contested the entire time and was decided only after the final out was recorded. Talking about taking a little bit to get going, the first run of the game wa...

You go from sweating and playing baseball in the burning hot weather, to freezing cold early morning and late night games. Having success in the fall is a whole other story. Finally here in mid-November, the fall season is coming to an end. At Brentwood State Park, the South Shore Elite took on the LI Storm in a 12u Boys of Summer Championship game! Joe Farina got the start on the big stage for the Elite and was nothing short of electric. After surrendering a leadoff single, he struck out three batt...
by Ethan Berch The Elite strike first, Alex Aramini rips an RBI single and it is joe 1-0 Elite after one! pic.twitter.com/NqU3ts4JD5 — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) November 8, 2020 It’s rare to get a nice sunny and warm day in November, but when it happens, it’s something to savor. Here at MacArthur Highschool, the 12u LI Titans faced off against the South Shore Elite in a league matchup. This age group will continue play until next weekend before finishing up their fall season. Joe Farina got the start for the Elite. Joe is built strong and throws the ball with great velocity at such a young age. Titans hitters struggled to even catch up to fastball and he didn’t even allow a single hit until the fourth inning. Southpaw Logan Vogel was the starter for the Titans. Loga...
Final: South Shore Elite 5, Wolfpack 0 WP: Ethan Merone @EcybTournaments pic.twitter.com/sdYi7T6vsf — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 17, 2020 Ethan Merone may only be 15 but Wantagh players tend to have a great feel for the big moments. The rising sophomore pitched a gem in the opening game of the sixth annual Brian Moore Memorial Tournament at Allen Park in Farmingdale. His South Shore Elite went up against the 495 Wolfpack with a 6:30 start time on a beautiful summer evening. Merone worked quickly, with the only jam really coming in the second inning when he allowed two walks and a single but escaped the jam with a strikeout and a flyout to left. He didn’t need much offense support but he got some in the bottom of the first when Brian Fader singled and advanced to second...
