Next Level Showcase Captures 2023 Axcess World Series

This weekend we hosted the second annual Axcess World Series at the beautiful complex of St. Dominic High School. In a field of 14 teams, both Next Level teams emerged to win pool play with records of 3-0. They squared off in the finals on Sunday, with Next Level Showcase coming away with a 5-1 victory. Incredibly, they allowed just 6 runs in the four games. Ryan Morash (Calhoun 2025) was the winning pitcher. The Most Valuable Player of the tournament was Collin Anderson (Chaminade 2025) who was red-hot all weekend, going 8-for-10 with 8 RBIs, 5 stolen bases and 2 doubles. Special thanks to all the teams that participated in the event, as well as the following colleges for sending coaches to be in attendance. Friday Night Recap (2/26) Powered by Orlin & Cohen

Yesterday was the first taste of a day filled with college baseball action in close to one year. Three local Division-I programs were in action. We covered Stony Brook’s season-opening DH sweep over Sacred Heart, which you can read about here. Here’s the other two schools as well. His offense did not give him much to work with against UMASS-Lowell starter Collin Duffley. The offenses traded zeros for the first three innings, but the Johnnies got on the board in the home half of the fourth inning on an RBI ground out off the bat of M...

Hofstra was looking to bounce back in their home opener after being swept last weekend by University of New Mexico Lobos. Despite scoring 34 runs in that series, they lost all three games in the bottom of the ninth inning. Meanwhile, LIU was doing the sweeping last weekend in their home opening series against the Saint Peter’s University Peacocks. Giovanni Ciaccio got the afternoon started for the Sharks as he hit the first pitch from Steven Boscia over the left field wall to give LIU an early 1-0 lead. A Carlton Harper RBI double later in the inning added one more run. Hofstra head coach John Russo pulled Boscia after just one inning ...
