GAME RECAP: RVC Tigers Hold On For 4-2 Victory Over Queens/Nassau Lions

by Jacob Infald On the afternoon of June 9th, the RVC Tigers took on the Queens/Nassau Lions in a doubleheader on opening day of the ECYBL 9u Summer Showdown American League at Plainedge Park. In the first game of the doubleheader, a contest that featured strong pitching performances from both sides, the Tigers were able to manufacture enough runs to secure a 4-2 victory. The Lions were able to get on the board first after being able to manufacture a couple of runs early. After a strong first inning by their starting pitcher AJ Greene, Jonathan Raudales was able to hit a one out single to right field for the game’s first base runner. The Mustangs would send Renzo Ioannou out to the mound to get the game started. It started early for the Tigers after back-to-back singles led to a 1-0 lead for the Tigers. Lucas Quiroz added another RBI with a ground out to the first basemen. The Tigers would go on to add 3 more off the bats of Declan Cowan and Owen Altschuler making it 5-0 after the top of the first and heading into the bottom half of the inning. In an 10u East Coast double header match up between the LI Titans and RVC Tigers, it was ALL Tigers all night. Offensively and defensively the Tigers dominated in a couple games that didn’t end up all that close.
