Molloy (31-21) will open up the 2016 NCAA East Regional tonight against St. Thomas Aquinas (35-15) in Rindge, N.H. at 7pm. The Lions will have ace Ron Bauer (7-2, 1.94 ERA) on the hill. He was roughed up in his last start against Dowling in the opening round of the ECC tournament. The Spartans ended their run of three straight ECC titles but they still received an at-large bid due to their 35-win season. They are a potent team in all aspects and we will break down their strengths. Pitching: They were fifth in the nation with a 2.94 ERA. Dowling (27-23) will open up the 2016 NCAA East Regional tonight against Southern New Hampshire (45-5) in Rindge, N.H.at 3pm. The Golden Lions will have Cody McPartland (6-4, 3.44 ERA) on the hill. He won Game One of the ECC Tournament over Molloy and also recorded the save in the clinching game against the University of Bridgeport. The Penmen just won the Northeast-10 tournament against the College of St. Rose by the score of 5-4. They are a well-rounded team that presents many challenges.They are making their fifth straight appearance in the East Regional and won it all in 2012. Yesterday was a very rough day for Long Island teams.  Division-I: Hofstra held an early 3-1 lead in College Station, but it did not last long. Hunter Melton smacked two home runs and Ronnie Gideon hit a grand slam to put an exclamation point on a 15-4 victory for the Aggies. The two teams will try and get at least 5 innings in today before the rain comes. Forecast is calling for a 50% beginning at game time. The No. 4 Texas A&M Aggies will host Hofstra at 2:05 P.M in the middle game of their three game set.     Chris Weiss will be on the hill for the Pride. The 2014 Longwood grad  led the team in ERA as a freshman last season. He threw 17.2 IP, mainly out of the bullpen, and compiled a 3.57 ERA with 10 Ks.  He will be opposed by sophomore Corbin Martin, making his first start of the season.
