As predicted, Tuesday afternoon’s game did not disappoint by any means. In a game for the ages, Oceanside topped Massapequa by a score of 7-6 to take game two of the series. This wasn’t a normal win by any means for Oceanside, this was the result of a hard fought battle. After suffering a tough loss on Monday, the Sailors wasted no time getting runs on the board. Oceanside Hoping To Take the Final Step

For the past couple years, Oceanside knows they’ve had arguably the best team in the county. After finishing 16-2 in the regular season and winning their first four playoff games, it seemed destined for the Sailors to win it all last season. However, they came up short as they were swept by Massapequa in the County Championship. After appearing in the County Championship four out of the last five years and walking away with zero championships, Oceanside will be hungrier than ever this year to change their fortunes this season. How will they do so? Through experience and leadership. Led by an extremely talented group of seniors, Oceanside will use their past as a lesson to try and prevent defeat from happening again. Alvarez pitched three innings, gave up one run, and allowed two singles. The two singles were the only hits for the Ducks throughout the game. The one run that Alvarez conceded wa...

The undefeated Sailors entered play with a perfect 7-0 record, but were facing their biggest challenge yet–facing the reigning Class AA Long Island Champion Massapequa Chiefs. The Sailors dominated in all facets of the game; cruising to a 13-0 victory with the exclamation mark coming in the top of the seventh inning on a long three-run HR by UMASS-Amherst commit Dylan Judd. The game was long over by that point, as the Sailors offense scored early-and-often against Chiefs’ RHP Christian...
