by Nick Cipolla Last year, St. Dominic’s High School showed everyone in the CHSAA they were much improved and they shouldn’t be taken lightly. First year head coach Joe Fusco led St. Dom’s to 14 wins between league, non-league, and playoff games in 2022. They were a team that got hot down the stretch, winning 8 of their last 10, eliminating teams like St. John the Baptist, Holy Trinity, and St. Mary’s from the playoffs. The only losses they experienced in the 10 game stretch were losses in walk-off fashion, showing that they were in every game they played towards the end of the year. Coach Fusco is a big reason for the instant turnaround in 2022. Fusco shared with Axcess Baseball some of the things that he felt made a difference in 2022. “Last year for myself and the coaching staff was a...

by Nick Cipolla Liam Ippoliti gives NY TRU32 a 4-1 lead with an rbi single pic.twitter.com/rCb8Tmhr7T — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 30, 2022 It was a beautiful Sunday on Long Island, a perfect day for October Baseball between Tristate Arsenal NY TRU32 and the B1.000 Seminoles. Game 2 of a doubleheader between these two teams was one full of excitement that had a bit of a lackluster ending as the game ended in a tie due to the time limit. The scoring began in the top of the first inning as the Seminoles got a 2 out rally going, putting runners in scoring position. A run would score on a wild pitch to make it a 1-0 game. NY TRU32 would add three runs in the second, Will Morrell scored the tying run on a passed ball and JJ Gusick hit a 2-run single to deep right center to giv...

In a 7-3 victory over Beast Black, they never trailed in this game as pitching, baserunning, and putting the ball in play with men on base seemed to be the keys to victory for Hanks Yanks. Yadiel Alvaro opened the scoring for Hanks Yanks when he stepped to the plate with two men on. He hit a fly ball to right that would’ve definitely have scored one run via sacrifice fly, however the ...

Serrano’s big day began in the first inning when he stepped up with runners in scoring position and one out. After he hit a foul ball about 500 feet, he would make an adjustment and hit the next pitch over the high wall in left field for a no doubt three run home run to give his team an ear...

When one team really starts to pile up runs, you may hear someone say “When it rains, it pours”. Beast Black made this statement into a fact as they mounted a comeback in the late innings against LI Storm and kept on adding more runs to make the game into a blowout by the time it ended. Matt Lombardo and Beast Black drew first blood with an RBI Infield single to make it 1-0 Beast in the top of the second inning. Through the first two innings, Thomas Fleischman of Pat Med and Alex Matalevich of Sayville both worked into and out of trouble without surrendering a single run to keep the score tied at zero In the bottom of the third inning, Sayville was able to draw first blood on a sac fly ...
by Nick Cipolla Postgame interview with Nick Laskowski after he pitched 4.2 innings of no hit ball for the Tri Hamlet Colonials pic.twitter.com/C27GqND6NJ — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 11, 2022 Nick Laskowski was on his A game last night from the first pitch he threw until the last one he was allowed to throw. Laskowski was dominant to say the least and was only pulled because of a pitch limit that he hit with two outs in the fifth, not allowing him to finish the game which ended in the same inning due to the two hour time limit in Town of Brookhaven. This performance kept his team in a close game against NexGen Storm that looked like it would be a pitcher’s duel until the Colonials offense came through in the third inning. The Colonials had a big four run third inning t...
