RHP Liam Byrne took the ball to start for the Longhorns, while B1 went with RHP Will Lordi. Each starter got off to a solid start, pitching two scoreless innings apiece to begin the game. Both pitchers seemed to be pitching to contact and trusting the fielders behind them. Neither offense could break through until the bottom of the third, when Longhorns catcher Vincenzo Abbatielo s...
by John Sullivan Final: Brady Hunt closes it down and the Longhorns win it 8-5 pic.twitter.com/clenUpHBip — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) June 18, 2024 The 13u Boys of Summer matchup at Holy Trinity on Tuesday night was a highly anticipated one, as two of the best teams in the league matched up. B1 Ghost Diaz Gold entered the game with a 4-1 record and a run differential of 29-8. NY Longhorns Maisano entered play with a 3-1 record and a run differential of 24-6. B1 sent Giancarlo Cantorno to the mound, who immediately put Longhorn lead off batter, Brian Kalinowski, on with a walk. Cantorno got the next batter to ground into a fielder’s choice for the first out, but an E6 put Brady Hunt on and made it first and second for the Longhorns. Joey Moy then ripped a line drive into c...
Bottom 1: A 2-R single by Patrick Dolan gives Longhorns a 3-0 lead pic.twitter.com/2XBjbZqfCQ — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) November 11, 2023 Well, you can’t do any better than that. The New York Longhorns Tassielli, in their first season together, went 21-0, and put the exclamation point on their undefeated fall with a run-rule victory in the LI Boys of Summer 13u American Championship over LI Storm. They didn’t waste any time, either. They scored 8 runs in the bottom of the first inning. The tone was set by James Steck who hit a routine grounder to short, but hustled out of the box and beat the throw. RBI hits by Jake Spina and a two-run single by Patrick Dolan followed and made it 3-0. Andrew Kil and Thomas Terravecchia followed with two-run hits of their own to bre...
New York Longhorns Coach Frank Tassielli on his team’s stellar play this weekend winning the 13u championship. They have also won 14 straight games to start the fall pic.twitter.com/IwNMn6A5Jz — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 9, 2023 The mark of a truly dominant team is how they perform against other top teams. The NY Longhorns-Tassielli haven proven their mettle in the fall 2023 season as they have not only won their first two tournaments, but are now 14-0 to kick off the fall. Their latest performance was this weekend’s ECYBL Columbus Day Tournament in which they won 10-0 via run-rule in the championship. Over the four games, they outscored their opponents, 61-2. In today’s championship game against B1 Seminoles AD-Black, the first inning was scoreless. After th...
Bottom 2: Vinny Vargas comes through with a 2-R single and the Longhorns lead 6-0 pic.twitter.com/mTrsTOiRfG — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 10, 2022 If there’s been one constant over the past couple years it’s the NY Longhorns steamrolling through their opponents. The 12u squad has been an absolute force on the Long Island baseball scene and they continued their dominance this weekend with a perfect 5-0 weekend, as they outscored their opponents by the score of 68-11. They captured the championship with a 10-0 run-rule victory over B1000 Seminoles-Saltzman this morning at Cantiague Park. They sent Christian Calabro to the mound and he was his typical dominant self as he went the distance and allowed just one hit. He also got the scoring started with an RBI doubl...
by Ben Diamond Game 1: The talk of game one was the offense for both teams. The LI Jr Ducks scored first in the first inning on an RBI single by Christian Valenti. But the Longhorns struck back right away later in the inning putting up three runs on a 3-run home run by Cole Paulsen. The Ducks would end up coming back from the small deficit, and the two teams would go back and forth until the 5th inning, when the Ducks would break the game open. 3 RBI’s coming from Nolan Carnaccio, and a huge grand slam off the bat of Jayden Robinson gave the Ducks the lead they would not give up. Although in the bottom of the 6th, the Longhorns did put up a fight. Down 14-6 in their final chance to bat, the Longhorns put up 4 runs and left the bases loaded, ending the game at a much closer 14-10. The pitch...
by Nicholas Cipolla Jason Creegan Scores the game winning run on a wild pitch to give the Titans an incredible comeback win over the Longhorns pic.twitter.com/hszoXU61qq — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 4, 2021 The Titans entered the bottom of the 5th inning down by five runs and not having any answers for the Longhorns bats or Grayson Aristy. That’s when everything changed and the Titans made an incredible comeback after looking dead in the water the previous few innings. The first 4 and a half innings were all Longhorns. Starting pitcher Grayson Aristy executed a perfect suicide squeeze to give his team an early 1-0 game in the top of the second. That same inning, the Longhorns pulled off a nicely executed first and third double steal to make it a 2-0 lead. A few pitches late...
