Although the team didn’t accomplish its preseason goal of winning a county championship, Bohringer was still proud of what his team was able to accomplish last year. “Last season wasn’t bad.” Bohringer said. “We finished 11-7 in the league, third place, made the playoffs, and unfortunately were eliminated after the third gam...
Final: Garden City 4, Mineola 3 WP: Xander Palmer S: Matt Liberopoulos Aidan Walsh HBP to score go-ahead run pic.twitter.com/FpLQKSeaI7 — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) May 15, 2023 No. 6 Garden City (15-3) hosted No. 11 Mineola (11-7) this afternoon on an absolutely perfect day in Garden City. The Trojans overcame a 3-1 deficit against a talented Mustangs team. There was not much offense at all in this game as there was a combined three hits and Mineola’s first hit came in the 7th inning. Garden City used a trio of left-handed pitchers to combine for the victory. They started ECU-commit Gabe Beschloss against Mineola’s RHP EJ Van Grembergen. Beschloss had his good velocity, but his command was not at its best today. He walked two batters in the first inning, although he ...
Final: Clarke 4, Mineola 3 WP: Jarret Sarrantonio Zaim Deljanin: 2-for-3, go-ahead RBI single in fifth Clarke improved to 14-1-1 pic.twitter.com/phxiPgmxQx — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) May 4, 2023 If you’re going to beat Clarke, you have to take an early lead and continue to pile on and not allow them the chance to build momentum and mount a comeback as they are always capable of. Looking to salvage Game 3 of a crucial three-game series, Mineola took an early 3-0 lead on the road, but were unable to add any insurance runs which allowed the Clarke offense to overcome and ultimately complete the three-game sweep with a 4-3 win. George Neofitidis got the start for the Rams and he got into some early trouble. After retiring the first batter, Mike Duda singled to left field, and...

The Mustangs got off to a strong start which established momentum that carried them into a good portion of the season. However, they hit a rough patch but were able to get through it by finishing strong with a sweep of the final series of the regular season series against Seaford. The Mustangs finished with an 8-9 record and lost to Manhasset in the opening round of the playoffs. Entering his 28th season as the head coach is Helms Bohringer, an Adelphi graduate, who also graduated from Mineola in 1985. He reflected on what lessons were learned in the roller coaster season. “We learned that every gam...
By Thomas Cregan Mineola coach Helms Bohringer is looking for another strong year out of his group of young players in 2022. Mineola finished the 2021 season with a league record of 7-9 making the playoffs in a tough conference. They were defeated in the first round by Wantagh, but coach Bohringer is optimistic his team will be back in the hunt for the playoffs this year. He is determined that through the experience the team has gained playing with each other that they will come back stronger and more poised to make a deep playoff run this year. Mineola saw two key players graduate from their 2021 roster. Catcher/ third baseman Nick Ramos who is going on to play at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT Along with catcher Blake Bastos who will be moving on to Elms College in Spr...
Chris Rimaldi ties the game with a 2-R triple (although it appeared to bounce off the school bus which should’ve been called a home run) pic.twitter.com/WXzRPzRy1V — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) May 17, 2021 by Joseph Curto On a warm and sunny day in Mineola, we saw two battle tested Nassau High school teams face off in a seesaw affair. The undefeated Bethpage Golden Eagles took on the home team Mineola Mustangs. The game featured two hard throwing righties as Bethpage gave the ball to Joe Lynn, and TJ Cox got the start for the Mustangs. In the top of the first inning, Bethpage jumped out to an early 2 run lead. Leadoff hitter Conner Burns started off the game with a hard hit single to left. After Burns stole second, he was brought home on an RBI single from Adelphi commit...

He’s a competitor and he doesn’t like to lose,” said Coach Bohringer. Locust Valley struck first blood on a RBI single by senior Matt Dellaquila scoring junior Steve Proko from second, who doubled earlier i...
by Zevan Shuster If Mineola is to have a bounce back season in 2020, it will have to come from within. “We have ten players returning from a roster in which we won four games,” Mineola head coach Helms Bohringer said. “We graduated our best players, but we’ve got a lot of players who were sophomores last year, who should develop as juniors this year. They will need to step up and be significant for us so we can be successful,” said Bohringer. The top of the lineup production, and the leadership is indeed gone from last season, and will need to be replaced for this upcoming season. Bohringer, with just a week to go before the season gets underway, isn’t sure where his most reliable productivity is going to come from. High-level execution will be paramount, and though dominance is unlike...
