Photo Credit: Molloy Athletics Last weekend the Molloy Lions showcased their power arms in a great four-game series against LIU Post. Yesterday, they turned the clock back to 1998 and won two slug fests against Nyack by the scores of 18-17 and 13-8. In Game One, they led 12-7 entering the top of the sixth when Nyack erupted for eight runs to open up a three-run lead. Nyack added two in the seventh, appearing that they had opened the game up. The Lions responded with two runs in the eighth and three in the ninth, thanks to RBI singles by John Galanoudis, Michael Rahn and Kyle Van Duyne.  They recorded 20 hits in the game and benefited from six Nyack errors. Galanoudis had four hits, scored four runs and drove in four.  Ron Bauer recorded his third win in relief with two shutout innings, whi...

March 16 Recap

Photo Credit: Vinny Messana Today was a very busy day in Long Island baseball. Six teams were in action. Counting Dowling double header, the teams were 5-2. Division-I: Stony Brook: They lost 13-2 to Binghamton. We covered the game, click here to read the recap. Hofstra: The Pride beat UMass-Lowell 6-5. They came up with two runs in the ninth inning to stave off defeat in a bizarre sequence of events. The first two batters were hit by pitches, the third walked, Eric Ferguson got hit with a pitch to score the tying run and then Jake Fallon was up when the pitcher threw a wild pitch to end the game. Brian MacDonald was the winning pitcher despite walking three batters, throwing two wild pitches and recording one out. Baseball is quite a game. Freshman Adam Heidenfelder started and threw five...
