First as an assistant coach under Jay Davis, Schiereck became the head coach after Davis’ retirement. Schiereck has been the skipper for the past five seasons. Oyster Bay had a very successful 2022 season. The Baymen finished with a 15-5-1 and qualified for the playoffs. However, their season ended in the County Semifinals against Locust Valley. Rosenberg has been Wheatley’s ace for the past 1+ seasons but he was facing a tough opponent, New Haven-commit Michael Gatti, who entered the game with a 2-0 record, 0.00 ERA and 23 strikeouts over 10 innings. Oyster Bay finished the regular season in 2021 with a 5-11 record in a combined league composed of A and B schools. Coach Shiereck said 6 of their losses were against the A schools who they do not usually go up against, though they were losses, he said they were in every game and put up a good fight against the competition.
