After Nick Caroli led off the bottom of the first by reaching on a throwing error, Frank Stella gave his team a 1-0 lead with an RBI Single up the middle. Jake Burlock ripped a two run single of his own to make it a 3-0 affair with no outs in the bottom of the first. The Tides finally recorded the first two outs when Sean Barodin hit an RBI groundout to make it a 4-0 game. With two outs in the same inning and runners on second and third, the Tides pitcher made a curious decision to try and pick off the runner at second base.
