During his senior season at West Babylon HS, Nick Clark had already decided he wanted to attend Adelphi University to play basketball. His dream was to play in the NBA. Despite West Babylon’s outstanding team – they won the Suffolk County Championship in 1993 and 1994 – he did not have plans to continue his career after graduation. As fate would have it, legendary Adelphi baseball coach Ron Davies, was attending his West Babylon game to watch his teammate, Mike Rayola. How about 15 total runs in just 5 innings! In the first game of a Labor Day Weekend tournament in the Boys of Summer, the Merrick Mayhem took on the Long Island Storm in an offensive showdown. Kurt Rauschenbach got the start for Mayhem. The scoring started very early in this one when Lucas Pagnotta of the Storm ripped an RBI double to get them on the board 1-0.
