They were able to get offense from their whole lineup. After the game, Lions Baseball pitcher Alex Czarnomski was asked about the performance of his teammates and he said, “We battled with good at-bats and got a lot of walks and got base runners on and good things will happen”. When asked how he was able to pitch in the middle of the game and shut the other team down, Alex said “I was just trying to throw strikes. They sent Nick Veiga to the mound and he performed extremely well. He went 5+ innings with three strikeouts and gave up three runs on four hits with two walks. Tucker Schiavoni gave West Islip an early 2-0 on a 2 run HR in the top of the 2nd inning. I asked him about his HR and he told me “it felt great and it was the first 2 runs of the game.
