Mike Heller was doing it all today for the Mustangs going 4 innings giving up 0 earned runs, striking out 4, while going 3-for-4 at the plate scoring 2 runs. Heller started the game off on the bump and dealt with some trouble early. LIB would load the bases with 2 outs, but Heller would reach back and strike out the batter for the 3rd out and give them the opportunity to get an early lead. Knights Empire got things started early as they struck first in the top of the first. After Ryan Sivillo’s lead off walk and Riley Quinn’s single, Ryan Mabrouk hit an RBI single to take an early lead. Luckily for LIB, starting pitcher. The Plainedge sophomore fired five strong innings and even contributed a sac fly at the plate to get his offense going in the third inning. The game was played at a brisk pace – it was completed in just over 90 minutes thanks to strong pitching on both sides.
