Every player in the Junior Ducks’ lineup scored at least once.  The Ducks jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after an RBI single by starting pitcher Justin Webster. Nick Hoffman, Junior Ducks Hold Off Yeti Baseball in 6-4 Win

The Ducks close it out on Yeti Baseball, inducing a groundout to end it. Each team added another run apiece, but it did not make a difference in the outcome. Final: Ducks 6, Yeti Baseball 4 pic.twitter.com/39iwGoAldx — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) August 6, 2022 A 14u Boys of Summer matchup between Yeti Baseball and the Long Island Junior Ducks took place at Newfield High School on Saturday afternoon. Both teams have had similar seasons thus far, so a competitive game was expected.  Nick Hoffman took the mound for the Ducks. The righty with a downer curveball made it look easy in the first inning, promptly throwing a hitless frame. The Duck bats showed they were there to play, jumping out to an early 4-0 lead via hits from Jacob Abzug and Bradley Fruchter as well as walks from Ryan...

Shane Beatrice Puts Out the Fire, Junior Ducks Win 5-4 Over West Warriors

Final: Jr Ducks 5, West Warriors 4 WP: Jayden Reo S: Shane Beatrice@EcybTournaments pic.twitter.com/TbZ5xUMSCA — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 4, 2021 When you have a dicey situation in the game, it pays to bring in your best reliever – or someone that can “put out the fire”. With the 12u Junior Ducks clinging to a 5-2 lead in the fourth inning and the WEST Warriors with the bases loaded with one out, they called on Shane Beatrice. After walking the first batter, Seth Schwartz, to bring in a run he then struck out Lucas Whitacre and induced a ground out off the bat of Jacob Krolick to end the inning. It turned out to be a crucial moment of the game as it kept the Ducks in the lead heading to the final two innings. Beatrice wound up firing a scoreless fift...

C.J. Picone Commits to Adelphi University

Adelphi has adjusted extremely well to the recruiting process during this pandemic. In addition to fielding a strong team in 2020, they now positioned themselves well for the future by snagging several of the top 2021 players on Long Island. They crushed the pitching recruits with John Rizzo, Jordan Falco, Phil D’Aguanno, Zach Rovner, Jacob Pedersen, Kendall Kendrick and John Carver. Now they have added to their position-player group with Kellenberg C C.J. Picone. Our followers may know him from the performance he put on at the Power Showcase in Miami back in December 2019 when he not only finished runner-up for his age group, but also raised $5,395 for charity by doing so. C.J. is the rare teenager that possesses leadership skills of a coach, a selfless attitude and the talent to be...

15th seed East End Aviators Stun 2nd Seeded Long Island Jr Ducks

by Jared Valluzzi Ryan Miller throws a complete game shutout as EastEnd survives and advances with the big victory. pic.twitter.com/y0JIeAgf9y — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 1, 2020 The 18U/17U Varsity Division on Long Island features a lot of talent and the playoffs just started to get underway. East End Aviators snuck into the playoffs as the number 15 seed. While the LI Jr Ducks got the number 2 seed and have been one of the best teams on Long Island. East End came into the game with just 3 wins but they believed fundamental baseball would really help them in this game against a team they lost to twice in the regular season. The Ducks came into the game with 11 wins on the year and proved to be one of the league’s top offenses and looked to continue that today.  ...

LI Junior Ducks Capture 17U Columbus Day Championship

This game couldn’t have gone much better for the Long Island Junior Ducks from start-to-finish. Led by Tom Caputo, the Ducks were firing on all cylinders in their 9-0 run-rule victory over the Commack South Diamonds. Starting pitcher John Rizzo was on his ‘A’ game, allowing just a first inning single in a one-hitter with seven strikeouts. The only other blemish was three hit batsmen but he never allowed the runners to get into scoring position. “Really just attacked the hitters with my fastball,” said Rizzo. “Pitching to my defense and letting them make plays,” he added. Facing off against New Haven-commit Kyle Allen, the Junior Ducks had a tall order but they were up to the challenge in the Finals. They got out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of t...

Junior Ducks Put On A Clinic in 15-3 Victory

The bats got going early and often for the 11U Junior Ducks this evening at Allen Park. In the top of the first they wasted no time putting up four runs. With one out, Stevie Gervasi and Chris Rizzo both singled and came around to score on Logan Urtnowski‘s two-run single. They added another run on an RBI double by Mike Tramaglini and Dom Olivo‘s run-scoring single opened up a 4-0 lead. They gave two of those back, though, in the bottom of the fist when five walks allowed Freedom Baseball to cut the lead in half. The RBIs went to Aiden Ging and Parker Elward. After going scoreless in the top of the second, the Ducks were relentless in the next two innings. Junior Ducks Defeat East Coast Jays, 3-2, To Open Up Columbus Day Tournament

The Long Island Junior Ducks got out to an early 3-0 lead but wound up hanging on to win, 3-2, over the East Coast Jays to open up the 2019 Columbus Day Tournament. After both teams went scoreless through the first two innings, the Ducks broke through in the top half of the third in a big way. After a hit by pitch by John Rizzo, Billy McKinney walked to move the runner into scoring position. Nick Rizzo came through with a clutch RBI single to give the Ducks an early 1-0 lead. After a ground out, Paul Mata drove in a run with a single to center to make it 2-0. An RBI ground out off the bat of KJ Flores made it 3-0. While it appeared the Ducks were well on their way to a victory, the Jays got something going in the fourth. After a walk and a single to open up the frame, an RBI single by Tyle...
