The Storm would take the lead after a Zach Fabus walk to lead off the inning who took second base on the next pitch. New York Longhorns and Jr. Ducks Split DH

by Ben Diamond Game 1: The talk of game one was the offense for both teams. The LI Jr Ducks scored first in the first inning on an RBI single by Christian Valenti. But the Longhorns struck back right away later in the inning putting up three runs on a 3-run home run by Cole Paulsen. The Ducks would end up coming back from the small deficit, and the two teams would go back and forth until the 5th inning, when the Ducks would break the game open. 3 RBI’s coming from Nolan Carnaccio, and a huge grand slam off the bat of Jayden Robinson gave the Ducks the lead they would not give up. Although in the bottom of the 6th, the Longhorns did put up a fight. Down 14-6 in their final chance to bat, the Longhorns put up 4 runs and left the bases loaded, ending the game at a much closer 14-10. The pitch...

Boyle, Lake Combine for 11 Strikeouts in Victory over LIB Vexxum

by Nicholas Cipolla Post game interview with Michael Boyle of the Jr Ducks pic.twitter.com/5u6AVfoG6F — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) June 25, 2021 Tonight just seemed to be one of those nights where everything seems to click for the Long Island Jr Ducks.  The Ducks never trailed in a 7-2 win over the LIB Vexxum tonight. Pitching wise, it was hard to determine who had a better performance on the mound tonight. Michael Boyle was dominant through three innings of work, so when Riley Lake came on in relief in the fourth inning, it puzzled a few people at first. But Lake proved to be equally as dominant over the final three innings Boyle finished with a stat line of 3 innings pitched, no hits allowed, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. He also provided some offense as he hit a sacrifice fly in ...

by Aaron Rothschild Walk Off double completes the comeback for the Long Island Storm! Great finish 8-7 win. @EcybTournaments pic.twitter.com/trRXlSNcYQ — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) June 13, 2021 When I woke up this morning to see a 10u baseball game I was expecting to see some fun, talented kids who were looking forward to playing some ball. But my words cannot do justice to just how impressed I was with both the level of play and coaching on both sides of the game between the Junior Ducks and the Long Island Storm.  This morning at Plainedge Park the Long Island Storm pulled off an impressive comeback capped off by an exciting walk-off double.  PJ Dwyer took the mound for the Long Island Storm and got off to a bit of a rocky start, after walking the leadoff batter, and a single ...

C.J. Picone Commits to Adelphi University

Adelphi has adjusted extremely well to the recruiting process during this pandemic. In addition to fielding a strong team in 2020, they now positioned themselves well for the future by snagging several of the top 2021 players on Long Island. They crushed the pitching recruits with John Rizzo, Jordan Falco, Phil D’Aguanno, Zach Rovner, Jacob Pedersen, Kendall Kendrick and John Carver. Now they have added to their position-player group with Kellenberg C C.J. Picone. Our followers may know him from the performance he put on at the Power Showcase in Miami back in December 2019 when he not only finished runner-up for his age group, but also raised $5,395 for charity by doing so. C.J. is the rare teenager that possesses leadership skills of a coach, a selfless attitude and the talent to be...

12U Junior Ducks Put On Offensive Clinic In Double Header Sweep

It’s not often that a team scores 17 runs in the first game of a double header and it’s the lower scoring of their two games of the day. The 12U Junior Ducks put on an absolute clinic Friday night at Cantiague Park in a double header against the East Coast Cannons – even dealing with some steady rain in the second game. Here’s how it went down. Game 1 The first couple innings were a back-and-forth battle. The East Coast Cannons put up three runs in the top of the first inning – thanks to two singles and three errors by the Ducks. That was just the beginning of a wild offensive game, though. The Jr. Ducks responded with a six-spot in the home half of the first. They batted around and the runs came in on a two-run error off the bat of Paul Cucuzzo, an RBI ground...
