Here’s HC Brian Derschowitz on the victory @liboysofsummer pic.twitter.com/IyTkjoEKQZ — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 25, 2018 It was a tremendous day for the East Coast Jays pitching staff, using seven pitchers to throw a combined no hitter in a 2-1 victory over the Oil City Bandits. Jack Rand started off the game on the mound for the Jays, striking out two in his one inning of work. In the bottom half of the first, the Jays scored the only runs they would need off of Bandits’ starting pitcher, Dan Kelleher. Lucas Rubenstein worked a walk, and then worked his way over to third base after two passed balls. Philip Piro then worked a walk and stole second base. Kelleher then uncorked a wild pit...

Coach Parsolano on his team’s 4-3 victory over Next Level pic.twitter.com/Ljf5WzUA2j — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 10, 2018 When you have an abundance of quality arms, it makes life much easier. LI Titans Head Coach Paul Parsolano made that clear following his team’s 4-3 victory over Next Level Baseball on Tuesday evening at Mitchell Field. He brought in RHP Rob Milopsky (Rocky Point 2019) with runners on 1st & 2nd with 0 out in the 6th inning to protect a 4-3 lead after the previous four batters all reached base via hits to cut the lead to one-run. Milopsky came on and struck out the side in the sixth and cruised through the seventh inning with three ground outs. Hawkeyes Use Big Inning in Comeback Victory Over Team Steel

The Hitter’s Club Hawkeyes overcame a four-run deficit to defeat Team Steel, 9-5, on Thursday night. Evan Christopher started for the Hawkeyes and pitched without any major damage until the top of the 4th inning. Besides an unearned run in the top of third, Christopher had not conceded a run. He got into trouble with the game tied in the top of the 4th, however, has he started to have problems with his command. A bases loaded walk forced in a run and three straights hit followed. Christopher would be replaced, but the damage was done with Team Steel leading 5-1 after 3.5 innings. Hawkeyes head coach Kevin Haverbusch was not happy with his team’s defense, particularly in that inning, but was glad to see some mistakes from Team Steel to get his team back in the game. “We just had to take adv...

The Rain Leads to Little Offense in the Diamond Spikes Victory Over LIB Prime

Elvis Zavala scored the first run and drove in the go ahead run in the Diamond Spikes 3-2 win over LIB Prime. pic.twitter.com/ONPdHl85ij — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 4, 2018 As the rain drops fell on the field of NYIT, pitchers on both squads were able to keep the hits to a minimum in the Diamond Spikes 3-2 victory over LIB Prime Lodato. While the rain was falling for the start of the game, it looked early on as if the rain will have a major effect on how the pitchers would perform. Both teams did not waste any time in putting an early run on the board and they did it in the same fashion. The scoring started in the top of the first inning for the LIB Prime. Nick Bell reached base on a walk and after he got to third base, a pass ball through the legs of the catcher resulted i...

Kasparian Throws Run-Rule Shortened No-Hitter as B1000 Seminoles Steamroll Freedom Baseball

Eddie Kasparian on his run-rule shortened no-hitter for the B1000 Seminoles @liboysofsummer pic.twitter.com/XzqvPpe1TM — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 3, 2018 It’s one of the oldest axioms in baseball. You can’t win if you can’t throw strikes. Freedom Baseball learned that the hard way in their 15u Boys of Summer matchup against the B1000 Seminoles on Monday night. Freedom went through 5 pitchers in just a 3-inning game, tallying a total of 14 walks. All those walks led to an easy 15-0 victory for the B1000 Seminoles. The story was not the same on the mound for B1000 as Eddie Kasparian displayed his best stuff on the mound in his short 3 innings of work. Kasparian allowed no hits and walked one batter in the 3-inning game, with 3 strikeouts to boot. Although a 3-inning no-hitte...

Sean Kennedy, Titans’ Bats Stay Red Hot in 10-1 Victory

Sean Kennedy talks about the LI Titans’ 10-1 victory this evening. pic.twitter.com/zZQaaA7PFm — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) June 19, 2018 The Long Island Titans improved to 6-0 in the Boys of Summer 16U Scout Division, scoring at least 10 for the third successive game in a 10-1 victory over the B1000 Seminoles.  After a scoreless top of the 1st thrown by the Titans starter Sanchese, the leadoff man in the bottom of the first manufactured a run. C.J. Cumbo singled, stole second, got to third on a groundout, and scored on a wild pitch.  Later in the same frame, after a walk and a hit batter, Sean Kennedy drove one into the alley in left center that would plate a pair. Kennedy, who was at third, scored on a sacrifice fly.  “I jumped on the fastball today,” Kennedy said. “I took an ag...

Controversial Finish Ends 16u National Game Between East End Aviators and Islip Owls in a Tie

One word that nobody likes to hear in baseball is tie. For the most part, baseball games rarely ever end in a tie, but when Mother Nature interjects, there’s not much that can be done about it. The 16u National game between the Islip Owls and East End Aviators featured a slow pace of play. It became quite clear early on that the weather and darkness could play a major role in the outcome of this game. The Owls jumped out to a quick lead in the top of the first when John Rivera brought home RJ Wagner with an RBI single. In the bottom of the 2nd, it looked as if the Aviators had taken the lead but Chris Rouleau’s 2 RBI doubled was called off due to the use of an illegal bat. The batter was called out and the runners had to go back to the previous base. Wagner took advantage of the brea...
