It’s been another thrilling year of baseball and that’s not just limited to the high school and college season. The good times have continued right through summer ball where we covered the Hamptons League, Boys of Summer, Blue Chip Collegiate League and several Blue Chip tournaments – not to mention the annual Axcess Invitational. So what’s next? In less than two weeks we will have coverage of the East Coast Youth Labor Day Bash (September 2-5th). The following weekend we will be hosting the first annual Axcess World Series which will feature 12 teams from around Long Island at the Charles Wang Athletic Complex. We will also cover the LI Boys of Summer Fall League as well as a pair of Town of Brookhaven Fall tournaments, Blue Chip Prospect tournaments and, of course...

The game was played at a brisk pace – it was completed in just over 90 minutes thanks to strong pitching on both sides. B1000 Seminoles sent Ryan Kenny to the hill to oppose Rosenberg and both pitchers had their good stuff going. The game was scoreless through two innings, although LIB was able to get ...

by Nicholas Cipolla Will Irwin makes it 2-1 team Francisco with a 2 out double to center pic.twitter.com/ZTw5VNkMKW — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) November 7, 2021 Team Francisco and LIB quite literally played until the sun set on the 2021 season. Team Francisco took home the fall season championship in a 3-1 victory in 6 innings as they had to battle not just LIB, but also the fading sunlight as daylight savings time began today. This meant that the sunset today was at approximately 4:40 and this game (slated for 1:30) was pushed back to a 2:57 pm first pitch due to a semi-final game concluding on the site of the championship game. Despite this, we still had a game to be played, and a champion to be crowned. LIB drew first blood in the first inning on a first and third double ste...

Especially in the first inning. The scoring began in the first inning and that turned out to be the difference in this one. With one out in the first inning and bases loaded, Tommy Dillon worked a walk to give the Black Diamonds a 1-0 lead. This began a carousel of runners moving station to station. James Miezeveski singled up the middle to make it 2-0. Kevin Defilipis worked a bases loaded walk to make it 3-0. The next batter, Chris Dinotta, legged out an infield single on a slow roller to shortstop to m...

by Nick Cipolla Game 1 Nick Farnacci makes it 2-0 with a 2 out RBI double in the bottom of the second inning pic.twitter.com/BvkPRMO7A8 — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 23, 2021 In what may be the final games of the year for the Batting 1000 Seminoles, they made sure to go out with a bang. The Seminoles took Game 1 of the doubleheader over the LI Empire by a score of 2-1. The key to this game for the Seminoles was clean defense and two runs early in the game to set the tone. In the first inning, the Seminoles put a man on and sent Andrew Bonnano to the plate. After fighting a couple of pitches off, he served a ball into center and made it a 1-0 game. Nick Farnacci got his day going in the second inning with a 2 out RBI double to make it 2-0 Seminoles in the bottom of the seco...
by Gabe Zoda After the game, we were able to speak to Zach Thielen of the SFX Huskies to talk to us about his performance on the mound today. (4IP, 6KS, 0 BBs, 1H) pic.twitter.com/hYTgJAd6B1 — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 3, 2021 In sports, there is usually a team that wins and then there is the team that loses, But on a Sunday when almost every NY team won the rules seem to fade a little. This LI Boys of Summer Matchup between the SFX Huskies and the Blue Devils proved exactly that. This game would go the distance and end in a 2-2 draw with many defensive plays that made that happen. Along with the defense, the pitching always came in to get out of jams and shut the door. In this low scoring game, the scoring for the Huskies started off in the 1st inning where they scored...
by Andrew Connors Another 2 runs come across for the Titans with Matt Francisco’s RBI single through the right side of the infield. pic.twitter.com/ogD5qgyHC4 — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 18, 2021 Saturday afternoon was the textbook definition of a perfect day for baseball, as we had some 14u Boys of Summer action between the LI Titans Robles and the East Meadow Mustangs. The Mustangs entered play with a record of 1-2, while this was the second game of the year for the 1-0 LI Titans. Gabe Newman was the starting pitcher for the East Meadow Mustangs, but the Titans jumped on him immediately. The Titans put up six runs in the first inning by way of five hits, 2 of which being extra base hits. However, Neman settled in and redeemed himself, pitching a very quick 2nd inning...

by Nicholas Cipolla Final: Sharks win 9-1 and claim the 17/18u varsity championship pic.twitter.com/MiHFvmYk56 — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) August 21, 2021 Sharks Baseball Academy was in control of this one from start to finish and it seemed nothing (not even a potential hurricane making landfall) would get in their way. The Sharks won the Boys of Summer 17/18u championship game over the EastEnd Aviators 9-1 in 5 innings due to the mercy rule coming into play. It all started for the Sharks in the top of the first inning. After three walks the bases were loaded with two outs, bringing Ryan Kunak to the plate. He ripped a 2 run single back up the middle to give his team an early 2-0 lead. In the top of the second inning, Sean Evangelista hit a high pop up between second base and ...
