After upsetting the No. 1 seed Pace, Adelphi was defeated on Thursday and faced elimination on Friday. They staved off elimination with a 7-2 victory against New Haven in which John Thompson threw 6.1 strong innings to record his second win of the season. Ray Triano got it down, and the third baseman threw it away which allowed Hassell to score the Panther’s second run.Murphy came up as a pinch-hitter and he promptly ripped a double to right-center field to give the Panthers the lead.
