In the first game of the double header, Dodger Nation got it started in the second inning thanks to Joseph Colleluori, who sprinted around the bases for an inside the park homerun just a few minutes after he made an inning ending diving catch in center field. The Dodgers capitalized on an error by the shortstop later in the inning...
Will Herbert slams the door and the Jr. Ducks capture the championship by the score of 10-8! @EcybTournaments pic.twitter.com/OmKne9v1Oi — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 6, 2021 All weekend the Junior Ducks made it a habit of showing resiliency and having a relentless offense. Facing their steepest test against the SFX Huskies, they fell behind 4-0 before coming to bat in the first inning, and never waivered as they came away with a hard fought 10-8 victory to capture the 12u championship in the Labor Day Bash. In the top of the first, the Huskies displayed incredible discipline at the plate against Ducks RHP Ty Stark. The first four batters of the game drew walks to get a 1-0 lead. After the first out was recorded via strikeout, Gabe Leone drove in a run on a fielder’...
Tim Ewring on his game-winning hit and the comeback win for the Jr. Ducks @EcybTournaments pic.twitter.com/v8DwpxBpne — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 5, 2021 Tim Ewring stepped to the plate in the fifth inning with his Jr. Ducks trailing Beast Crimson, 4-3. After a wild pitch tied the game, there was much less pressure on him and he delivered in a big way, ripping a two-run double to give the Ducks a 6-4 lead. It was a lead they would not relinquish although Beast did threaten in the last half inning. Jr. Ducks Valiendo are a very talented team that entered this matchup with a record of 2-0 in pool play of the Labor Day Bash Powered by Axcess Baseball. They were facing another great team in the Beast Crimson, so it would take a near-flawless effort to come out on top. Afte...
Final: Jr Ducks 5, West Warriors 4 WP: Jayden Reo S: Shane Beatrice@EcybTournaments pic.twitter.com/TbZ5xUMSCA — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 4, 2021 When you have a dicey situation in the game, it pays to bring in your best reliever – or someone that can “put out the fire”. With the 12u Junior Ducks clinging to a 5-2 lead in the fourth inning and the WEST Warriors with the bases loaded with one out, they called on Shane Beatrice. After walking the first batter, Seth Schwartz, to bring in a run he then struck out Lucas Whitacre and induced a ground out off the bat of Jacob Krolick to end the inning. It turned out to be a crucial moment of the game as it kept the Ducks in the lead heading to the final two innings. Beatrice wound up firing a scoreless fift...
After four days of wall-to-wall baseball at Moriches Sports Complex, we were able to crown championships at the 14, 15, 16 and 17/18 age group. The winners were: 14U- KA Elite Junior Ducks 15U- Diamond Spikes 16U- Black Diamonds 17/18U- Junior Ducks It took several months of planning, but it was almost all derailed by the pandemic that delayed the start of the 2020 season until July 6. It was almost derailed again with a huge storm that swept through Long Island on Wednesday night and parts of Friday morning. For those that have followed Axcess Baseball for a few years, you know how a dark cloud hangs over at out events. It started in 2016 with Dowling College closing the day before the Battle of the Border. Later that year, had to cancel a Home Run Derby. Once again, the first Awards Ban...

The Long Island Junior Ducks got out to an early 3-0 lead but wound up hanging on to win, 3-2, over the East Coast Jays to open up the 2019 Columbus Day Tournament. After both teams went scoreless through the first two innings, the Ducks broke through in the top half of the third in a big way. After a hit by pitch by John Rizzo, Billy McKinney walked to move the runner into scoring position. Nick Rizzo came through with a clutch RBI single to give the Ducks an early 1-0 lead. After a ground out, Paul Mata drove in a run with a single to center to make it 2-0. An RBI ground out off the bat of KJ Flores made it 3-0. While it appeared the Ducks were well on their way to a victory, the Jays got something going in the fourth. After a walk and a single to open up the frame, an RBI single by Tyle...
Coach Jason Spahn on the 5-3 victory pic.twitter.com/u1AzVqr3Rt — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) April 28, 2019 The Islip Owls, behind strong pitching by Ryan Barlow in Game 1 and Max Bergen, Kevin Mills and Jamie Yurcak in Game 2, swept a doubleheader over the Junior Ducks by scores of 2-1 and 5-3. According to Owls head coach Jason Spahn, the team’s victories “came down to pitching and some timely baserunning.” A stolen base and induced balk by Ronan Montana helped start a rally in the second game, leading him to score the deciding run on an infield single by Mikey Tehan. “The kids got the job done today and I’m very proud of their performance,” Coach Spahn said. Ryan Barlow threw a complete game in the first game of the doubleheader, with the only run he allowed coming on a wild p...
Great finish as Sal Ansaldi snags a liner off the bat of Dylan Parker to seal a 3-2 victory for Long Island Baseball. LIB Bombers 9U were fortunate to receive an outstanding effort from young hurler Sal Ansaldi on the mound this afternoon against Long Island Junior Ducks. He went five innings, striking out 12 batters and allowing just two runs. “I felt comfortable on the mound,” said the 9-year-old. “I feel like defensively we played very well. I tried to stay calm on the mound, and tried to strike everyone out,” he added. He nearly did that, as he struck out two in the first, three in the second,...
