Tim Ewring on his game-winning hit and the comeback win for the Jr. Ducks @EcybTournaments pic.twitter.com/v8DwpxBpne — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 5, 2021 Tim Ewring stepped to the plate in the fifth inning with his Jr. Ducks trailing Beast Crimson, 4-3. After a wild pitch tied the game, there was much less pressure on him and he delivered in a big way, ripping a two-run double to give the Ducks a 6-4 lead. It was a lead they would not relinquish although Beast did threaten in the last half inning. Jr. Ducks Valiendo are a very talented team that entered this matchup with a record of 2-0 in pool play of the Labor Day Bash Powered by Axcess Baseball. They were facing another great team in the Beast Crimson, so it would take a near-flawless effort to come out on top. Afte...
by Nicholas Cipolla Final: Jr Ducks: 4 EastEnd Aviators: 4 Great play by the Jr Ducks Shortstop to end the game pic.twitter.com/o2rgXEpNbp — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) August 5, 2021 For the first time this summer, I witnessed a great game of baseball where someone didn’t have to lose. The LI Jr Ducks Kerman and the EastEnd Aviators 14u displayed some late game heroics in the bottom of the 6th, Top of the 7th, and the bottom of the 7th as well. As much as tie games stink, this was a game that both teams deserved to win. After both teams worked into and out of trouble, the Jr Ducks were able to draw first blood in the top of the 2nd. The starting pitcher for the Jr Ducks, Tyler Popko led off the inning with a double to deep left field. He was able to advance to third on a passed b...
by Gabe Zoda In the bottom of the 6th the FS Hitmen comeback and WALK IT OFF ON THIS BROKEN PLAY. Jay Gigante scored the winning run. pic.twitter.com/gs3LSSL3FD — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 29, 2021 Some of the best feeling wins in baseball come from comebacks and walk-offs. Luckily for everyone in attendance at this 13u matchup between the LI Jr Ducks and the FS Hitmen, we got to see both. This game was one of the most back-and-forth games of the season. These teams traded blows and scored in all but 2 innings. The scoring showed itself in the scoreboard as well as the final score would end up 9-8 in favor of the FS Hitmen. The Jr. Ducks would land the first punch in the top of the 1st. They would score 1 from a single from Max Rayburn to make that happen. Before that sin...

by Nick Cipolla Final: Renegades: 9 Jr Ducks: 1 pic.twitter.com/0xQwWxfM0l — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 4, 2021 These kids from Queens can hit. The renegades attacked early and that’s all they needed to do in order to get a win over the Long Island Jr Ducks. The first batter of the game, Sal Romano, reached on a hit by a pitch. He stole second and then was knocked in by Joey LaSala on a single to left field. LaSala scored on a pickoff play where the ball went into the outfield and then was thrown out of play. Dylan Donofrio got on base and made his way to third before scoring on a wild pitch, which was ball four to the batter to make it 3-0. A few battwes later, Niko Frantzeskakis knocked in two more runs to make it 5-0. They scored all five of those runs before an out...
After four days of wall-to-wall baseball at Moriches Sports Complex, we were able to crown championships at the 14, 15, 16 and 17/18 age group. The winners were: 14U- KA Elite Junior Ducks 15U- Diamond Spikes 16U- Black Diamonds 17/18U- Junior Ducks It took several months of planning, but it was almost all derailed by the pandemic that delayed the start of the 2020 season until July 6. It was almost derailed again with a huge storm that swept through Long Island on Wednesday night and parts of Friday morning. For those that have followed Axcess Baseball for a few years, you know how a dark cloud hangs over at out events. It started in 2016 with Dowling College closing the day before the Battle of the Border. Later that year, had to cancel a Home Run Derby. Once again, the first Awards Ban...
