Long Islanders Selected to Tryout for Top Tier National Team in Georgia
The Top Tier Aviators are a northeast travel program under the Top Tier Baseball umbrella. They have 11 teams within the Aviators program and there are 150 teams nationally. In 2022, the East End Aviators, one of the more competitive organizations on Long Island became the NY chapter of Top Tier, elevating their brand. Today I was down at their facility, as a few of their top players at the younger levels were invited to tryout for the Top Tier Select, which will be a collection of the best Top Tier players in the country and compete in a few tournaments. There’s no reason not to be, as his team played tremendously in 2021. “We’re coming off another Region 8 championship,” said Coach Galbraith, in an interview with Axcess Baseball. “It was our 5th consecutive time winning our region.” The pandemic is what stopped his team from going beyond the regional championship, according to Galbraith. “Unfortunately, due to COVID travel restrictions placed on our team, we were not able to compete for the [NJCAA] World Series,” he said. Jason Galbraith New Head Coach of Suffolk Community College
Jason Galbraith has been named the new Head Coach of Suffolk Community College, replacing Brian Klammer who was at the helm for one season. Eric Brown had been synonymous with the program, coaching Suffolk CC for 29-years, winning 685 games including 7 appearances in the NJCAA World Series. He received the 2017 Axcess Baseball Lifetime Achievement Award. Galbraith was the Pitching Coach last season, guiding the staff to a 3.11 team ERA and 11.2 K/9. During his playing career, he was 30-3 at Concordia College and was a second-team All-American in 2001. He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 46th round of the 2002 draft.
