The Pirates had a playoff run that was ultimately cut short by Clarke. They finished the regular season with a 10-8 record. He put together some video game numbers that would make Rickey Henderson jealous. He batted .484 with a .590 OBP, 1.214 OPS, scored 51 runs and drew 23 walks against just 7 strikeouts. A late game match up between the Batting .1000 Seminoles and the South Shore Chiefs was a good one under the chilly lights at Cantiague Park. It was a defensive battle throughout with minimal hits, but low scoring baseball never fails to excite! Sal Apap got the start for the Chiefs and he was impressive.
