After he hit a foul ball about 500 feet, he would make an adjustment and hit the next pitch over the high wall in left field for a no doubt three run home run to give his team an ear...

by Chris Prystupa Here’s Owls (Kneisel) RHP Jaden Schmidt on his dominant start in the Taylor Ryan tournament’s championship game pic.twitter.com/cfs6D1Y3Ua — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) June 13, 2022 It was a well-rounded game played between both Islip Owls Kneisel and Islip Owls Mckenna today at East Islip Highschool. Both teams pitched well, played solid defense, and had timely hitting but Owls Kneisel ultimately outlasted their opponent.  Owls McKenna would send right-handed pitcher Connor Villano to the mound and he would be just as effective as his counterpart Jaden Schmidt on Owls Kneisel. Both pitchers were the definition of efficiency as the starters were dominating each other’s lineups through the first two innings.  In the top of the third inning, the first run of...

It didn’t take long for Batting 1.000 to gain the lead, as they scored half of their runs in the bottom of the first inning. Timmy Lynch led off with a walk and was pushed over to 2nd base on Seligman’s single to center field. Tolipano then brought them both home on his first hit of the game, a two run double to right field. Offensive Clinic Topped off with Clutch Defense in Beast’s Win over Owls

By James Ryder It was a chilly night Thursday at Baseball Heaven. However, the bats were hot for both 11u teams playing on Field 5. It was an offensive clinic for most of the game that ended with Team Beast besting the Islip Owls, 9-8. The Beast opened the game by hitting back-to-back doubles, courtesy of Adrian Cruz and John Albert Franco respectively, that put them up 1-0. In the bottom of the first, the Owls started with three straight hits, including two doubles of their own. Gregory McSweeny’s leadoff double and Luis Poulos’ single led to Matt Waters’ 2 RBI double down the 1st base line for the lead. Dylan Broschart’s groundout to shortstop and James Terhune’s single to center field each scored one run each to go up 4-1. Once again, the lead wasn’t had for long. The Beast answered wit...

His only blemish came in the second inning on a two-run double by Brandon Ruocco after back-to-back walks to open the frame. The other two hits he allowed both came on swinging bunts down the third base line that the hitters barely managed to beat out. A five-run first inning for the Thunder set the tone for the game, and the Owls were unable to keep up. Thunder head coach Domenick Caponi believes this victory is a good sign his team is getting out of an offensive funk. “I told my team right off the bat, we have to come out explosive, and they did,” Coach Caponi said. “The bats were hot and they never died down.” Each of the first six hitters in the Thunder lineup finished the game with at least one RBI and one run scored. Cleanup hitter Thomas DeSantis led the way with...

According to Owls head coach Jason Spahn, the team’s victories “came down to pitching and some timely baserunning.” A stolen base and induced balk by Ronan Montana helped start a rally in the second game, leading him to score the deciding run on an infield single by Mikey Tehan. “The kids got the job done today and I’m very proud of their performance,” Coach Spahn said. Ryan Barlow threw a complete game in the first game of the doubleheader, with the only run he allowed coming on a wild p...
