What a fitting way to end an outstanding weekend of baseball at Gameday USA‘s All-Star Weekend. JJ Palumbo reached on an infield single to score the game-winning run as the Red All-Stars overcame a 7-3 deficit in the fifth inning to win 8-7 to defeat the Gold All-Stars. Things got off to a rocky start for the Red All Stars when starting pitcher Alex Marcoline struggled to find the strike zone. He walked the first three batters, coupled with an E6 that allowed four runs to score in the top of the first inning. He bounced back and retired the final two batters of the inning to prevent the game from getting out of hand. Red bounced right back, though, with two runs in the bottom of the first inning with the runs coming on an error and a bases loaded walk to Michael Brocco. The bench was...
Today opened up Gameday USA‘s All Star Weekend at Baldwin Park. The day began with player introductions, the National Anthem and an address from Gameday President Tony Cappel. After that, the players broke off into age groups and were evaluated by Gameday’s staff. They were measured by exit velocity, throwing velocity, 10-yard shuttle runs and infield practice. At 1pm, the games began and we covered the high school age players. The Red All Stars were victorious in both games, and here’s how it went down. Game 1: The Gold team got off to a quick 1-0 lead when Chris Valencia smoked a leadoff double to left field, advanced to third on an E6 and stole on the backend of a double steal attempt. The lead did not last long, though, as the Red All Stars tied it up in the top of th...

The event featured 24 teams, including some teams from New Jersey and upstate New York. 13U Knights Coach Joe Palumbo on the Gameday USA tournament this weekend pic.twitter.com/WhEhaaJm1I — Axcess Sports (@AxcessSports) June 30, 2019 In a 13U semifinals match up this afternoon at Newbridge Park, Aces Baseball came out of the gate firing on all cylinders, which was the difference as they advanced to the championship game with an 8-0 victory. After firing a scoreless top of the first inning–working around a leadoff double by Cristino Tufano–their batters displayed an advanced approach at the plate and took advantage of some control issues from the Knights starting pitcher. A leadoff single by Aidan Gallagher followed by a walk put two runners on base. A tailor-made double play was booted to load the bases with no out. Consecutive bases loaded walks made it 2-0 in fa...
by Alex Carmenaty The 11U Camelot Knights came ready to play the GameDay USA Tournament at Newbridge Park in Bellmore as they won 16-1 against the Whitestone Renegades. The game was called after the 5th inning due to the mercy rule. The Knights started off strong as Isaiah Marino started the game with a base hit and then Vincenzo Buffalino drove him in with an RBI Triple. The Knights would go on to scored 3 runs in that innings and then continued the rampage on from there, scoring 13 runs after the early start. Marino was definitely the player of the game as he pulled off a true little league act. In the top of the third, Marino hit a 2-run inside-the-park home run, making the lead 8-0. “I feel like I played good as I made a great play, continuing the lead.” Marino said when asked about th...
by Chris Amato To start the first inning the Sharks sent the their tall, hard throwing right hander to the mound, Danny Tredermann. Tredermann worked quick in the first inning giving up only a single. Greg Malerba took the mound for Camelot to start. The Sharks struck first on an RBI single to left field by their first baseman Tristan Gatchalion that scored Drew McGowan. The Knights got to Tedermann in the 2nd inning. After a leadoff single by Sean Seligman, the offense capitalized by sending him home on a throwing error to tie the game 1-1. Then with runners on second and third, leadoff batter, Nick DiSanti roped a line drive double down the left field line that would give the Knights a 3-1 lead. The Sharks bat’s hit right back in the 3rd inning with an RBI single by center fielder Jack C...
