NY Longhorns Sweep Friday Night DH From Knights Nation

On a night where the Mets and Yankees kicked off the Subway Series, two other teams familiar with one another squared up under the lights at Cantiague Park. Game 1: The NY Longhorns were in control for much of this game until the last inning. They did fall behind 1-0 in the first inning on an RBI single by Joe Meyer to left field which scored Jake D’Amico but he was thrown out trying to stretch into a double. Longhorns’ RHP Marco Comande ended the inning with a groundout to first base. They faced Knights RHP Lucas Schwabe. The hard-thrower worked around a single to Comande in the first inning with a 9-3 double play initiated by the right fielder to escape the inning. by Ethan Berch That’s the game! 2-0 Batting .1000 Seminole’s over the South Shore Chiefs! pic.twitter.com/aMhVawmxPM — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 18, 2020 Get your blankets, sweatshirts, and coats out and ready because it’s fall baseball time! A late game match up between the Batting .1000 Seminoles and the South Shore Chiefs was a good one under the chilly lights at Cantiague Park. It was a defensive battle throughout with minimal hits, but low scoring baseball never fails to excite! Sal Apap got the start for the Chiefs and he was impressive. Apap pitches from the left side and showed a very good off speed pitch which troubled many of the Noles hitters. Apap struck out three batters through 3.1 innings pitched.
