They set a program record with 37 wins, they captured the NEC regular season title and the NEC Championship with a 7-0 win over Bryant. Their season came to an end in the NCAA Regional at College Park where they lost to No. 1 Maryland and No. 2 Wake Forest. They had a lot of standout individual performers as well. RHP Josh Loeschorn (11-3, 3.06 ERA) and E.J. Exposito (13 HRs, .864 OPS) were selected in the MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Atlanta Braves, respectively. Hofstra was picked to finish ninth in the preseason CAA coaches poll. On May 29 in the CAA Championship, they defeated Northeastern, 7-6, in walk-off fashion on a hit by pitch by Ryan Morash to score Brian Morrell. It was a truly stunning finish considering they had never won a conference championship in the program’s history and they won all four games by one-run including three walk-off wins. Make sure to check them out here.) 2022 was an exciting season for the Queens Knights – who finished with their highest win total (26) since 1998 (29) and advanced to the ECC Finals against Molloy. They defeated No. 3 Mercy and No. 4 St. Thomas Aquinas in the playoffs to advance to the championship round. Coach Chris Reardon‘s team refused to go down quietly in any game. They scored 10+ runs in 13 games. They were led offensively by freshman Marc Cisco, who had one of the finest seasons not only in program history but also in the nation.
