Here’s Coach Joel on their 2019 season pic.twitter.com/Pt1HkAsOIm — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 19, 2019 Despite the chill in the October air, the bats of the 11U Syosset Braves were on fire in their 11-3 victory over Batting 1.000 this evening. In what concluded their 2019 season, they went out on a positive note. They wasted no time early on, as they scored four runs in the top of the first inning. After a leadoff walk by Xavier Pultz and a stolen base, an error got him to third and he scored on a wild pitch to open up the scoring. Christian Eliane drove in a run with an RBI ground out, Michael Mifsud smoked an RBI triple to make it 3-0 and Asher DePierro extended the lead to 4-0 with an RBI single. Matthew Waters ...
Long Island Baseball captures the 15U Championship with a 7-6 come-from-behind victory. Sadier Vicioso fired four hitless innings in relief to record the win pic.twitter.com/uAZQdJT10K — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 14, 2019 It’s not often that you see a 6-0 lead squandered, and it’s even more rare in a Championship game when runs are typically at a premium but that’s exactly what we saw this morning in the 15U Finals. Sharks Baseball Academy came out of the gate firing, scoring six runs in the top of the second inning. They got the scoring going on an RBI single by Patrick Murnane followed by a wild pitch. Nathaniel Yee extended the lead to 3-0 with an RBI single to center field. James Cummins hit an infield single with the bases loaded to make it 4-0. A ...
This game couldn’t have gone much better for the Long Island Junior Ducks from start-to-finish. Led by Tom Caputo, the Ducks were firing on all cylinders in their 9-0 run-rule victory over the Commack South Diamonds. Starting pitcher John Rizzo was on his ‘A’ game, allowing just a first inning single in a one-hitter with seven strikeouts. The only other blemish was three hit batsmen but he never allowed the runners to get into scoring position. “Really just attacked the hitters with my fastball,” said Rizzo. “Pitching to my defense and letting them make plays,” he added. Facing off against New Haven-commit Kyle Allen, the Junior Ducks had a tall order but they were up to the challenge in the Finals. They got out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of t...
The bats got going early and often for the 11U Junior Ducks this evening at Allen Park. In the top of the first they wasted no time putting up four runs. With one out, Stevie Gervasi and Chris Rizzo both singled and came around to score on Logan Urtnowski‘s two-run single. They added another run on an RBI double by Mike Tramaglini and Dom Olivo‘s run-scoring single opened up a 4-0 lead. They gave two of those back, though, in the bottom of the fist when five walks allowed Freedom Baseball to cut the lead in half. The RBIs went to Aiden Ging and Parker Elward. After going scoreless in the top of the second, the Ducks were relentless in the next two innings. by James Ryder Final: 12-11 Rebels. LIDN almost tied it, but a close play at first ended the game. By Ethan Marshall Bandits’ head coach Ryan Gorecki on the way his team played today. pic.twitter.com/5dK48nXukH — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 13, 2019 The Oil City Bandits, behind five run second and fourth innings, defeated the Long Island Elite 14-10. One of the biggest plays of the game came when the Bandits’ Pat Sullivan belted a go-ahead three-run triple to deep center field in the bottom of the second inning. According to Sullivan, he was just focused on getting the bat on the ball to drive in the runner from third, but got a pitch to drive. “I was just looking for a pitch to hit up in the zone and just hit my pitch,” Sullivan said. The Elite took a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the second thanks to a Kenneth Zito RBI fielder’s choice in the first and Ryan Kunkel...
by Andrew Giantasio The Massapequa Cyclones took on the LI Pride at Cantiague Park in the 12U division of the East Coast Columbus Day Tournament and they came away with a 9-0 shutout. The game had a different feel in the top of the first as the Pride loaded the bases with only one out, but starting pitcher Justin Graham would quickly settle in and would escape the inning unscathed. He wound up working three spotless innings. From there, the Cyclones would take over as they jumped ahead in the bottom half of the first with a six-spot. Evan Walters started the scoring with a two-run double, which was followed by Justin Graham hitting a two-run single to help himself. Aggressive base running through out the game helped keep pressure on the Pride. Massapequa Cyclones defeated the LI Pride 9-0 ...
by Chris Amato Sharks take this one to start their Columbus Day Tournament with a 7-3 victory. pic.twitter.com/GgyjaxzZLf — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 12, 2019 Despite a shaky start, the Sharks Academy scratched out a 7-3 victory over the Long Island Titans to kick off their Columbus Day Tournament. The Sharks gave up a few runs in the first but were able to limit the damage and rally back for 7 runs. The story for the Sharks ended up being their starting pitcher, Michael O’Grady. After giving up a few runs in the first it seemed that maybe it just didn’t happen to be his day on the mound. However, after finishing the inning and regaining his poise, Michael seemed dominant for the remainder of the game. He pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits while compiling 5...

After a ground out, Paul Mata drove in a run with a single to center to make it 2-0. An RBI ground out off the bat of KJ Flores made it 3-0. While it appeared the Ducks were well on their way to a victory, the Jays got something going in the fourth. After a walk and a single to open up the frame, an RBI single by Tyle...

The young team took that to heart and instilled it at the plate in this morning’s 11-6 victory over the Massapequa Cyclones. The Pride drew 16 walks and were ultra-aggressive on the base paths which resulted in five runs scoring on wild pitches.
