But, when your starting pitcher needs only 94 pitches to breeze through a complete game then it’s possible.Brendan Butler won his second game of the month for the Golden Lions who have now won six consecutive games and pushed their win streak to six with a 2-0 victory over Bloomfield College. Butler allowed only three hits, walked one while striking out five in the seven inning complete game.The offense was stagnant, but didn’t need to produce much. Senior Jon Cruz hit a two-run double to score Matthew Moschovas and Dylan Piscitelli in the fourth inning. Dowling Stays Hot With 10-4 Win Over Bloomfield
Photo Credit: Vinny Messana The Dowling Golden Lions stayed hot with an easy 10-4 win over Bloomfield in the first game of a double header on Sunday. They got out to an early 2-0 lead in the second inning on a bases loaded walk by Dylan Piscitelli, followed by an RBI single by Chris Appell.They employed a pitcher-by-committee method as Cody McPartland started and threw three shutout innings. He was relieved by Nick Persad, who contributed two shutout innings. Thomas Bashen allowed 3 ER in his 1.2 innings but Robert Rose closed the door with 0.1 innings.The difference in the game was a five-run fourth inning by the Golden Lions.
