This edition features the Varsity level LI Titans taking on the Batting 1.000 Seminoles at Eisenhower Park. It was a windy one but the sun made an appearance as this game went on. Anthony Bulla got the start for the Titans and he was very good all morning. There was only one run throughout the first two innings as Bulla did his job. Shaun Joyce got it started for the Noles with an RBI double. Although he wasn’t overpowering, Bulla pitched to contact and even added a bunch of strikeouts...
Vin Juliano pitched five innings and recorded the win pic.twitter.com/19WUYH3yiy — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 10, 2020 Baseball is a team game but sometimes all it takes is one or two players to carry the team on their backs. On this afternoon, it was the bat of TJ Meizoso and the arm of Vin Juliano that was the driving force behind a 9-5 victory for the CN Rebels over the Massapequa Cyclones in a 10u Columbus Day Tournament game. Juliano pitched five innings, also drove in a run at the plate, and Meizoso drove in five runs at the plate – including a three-run shot in the first inning to open up a 5-0 lead in which they would not relinquish. Juliano worked around a leadoff single in the top of the first inning by Danny Fregara to throw a scoreless inning. His offens...
Coach Kyle Johnson on the victory for the Titans @EcybTournaments pic.twitter.com/G5dB0ni1bp — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 10, 2020 To beat the 10u Titans-Anderson, you need to pay close to a perfect game. That means playing clean defensively, not allowing any walks and keeping their speedy runners at bay. That was not the case today, as they cruised to a 19-2 run-rule victory in the Columbus Day Tournament over Sharks Baseball Academy. Coach Kyle said, “From top to bottom, the whole lineup hit,” said the skipper and Stony Brook junior. “From Irrizary all the way down to Wonderland, they did their jobs and gave good at bats all game. I think they did a good job of putting the ball in place consistently and not letting up even though the score got out of h...

Long Island Baseball captures the 15U Championship with a 7-6 come-from-behind victory. Sadier Vicioso fired four hitless innings in relief to record the win pic.twitter.com/uAZQdJT10K — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 14, 2019 It’s not often that you see a 6-0 lead squandered, and it’s even more rare in a Championship game when runs are typically at a premium but that’s exactly what we saw this morning in the 15U Finals. Sharks Baseball Academy came out of the gate firing, scoring six runs in the top of the second inning. They got the scoring going on an RBI single by Patrick Murnane followed by a wild pitch. Nathaniel Yee extended the lead to 3-0 with an RBI single to center field. James Cummins hit an infield single with the bases loaded to make it 4-0. A ...
This game couldn’t have gone much better for the Long Island Junior Ducks from start-to-finish. Led by Tom Caputo, the Ducks were firing on all cylinders in their 9-0 run-rule victory over the Commack South Diamonds. Starting pitcher John Rizzo was on his ‘A’ game, allowing just a first inning single in a one-hitter with seven strikeouts. The only other blemish was three hit batsmen but he never allowed the runners to get into scoring position. “Really just attacked the hitters with my fastball,” said Rizzo. “Pitching to my defense and letting them make plays,” he added. Facing off against New Haven-commit Kyle Allen, the Junior Ducks had a tall order but they were up to the challenge in the Finals. They got out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of t...
The bats got going early and often for the 11U Junior Ducks this evening at Allen Park. In the top of the first they wasted no time putting up four runs. With one out, Stevie Gervasi and Chris Rizzo both singled and came around to score on Logan Urtnowski‘s two-run single. They added another run on an RBI double by Mike Tramaglini and Dom Olivo‘s run-scoring single opened up a 4-0 lead. They gave two of those back, though, in the bottom of the fist when five walks allowed Freedom Baseball to cut the lead in half. The RBIs went to Aiden Ging and Parker Elward. After going scoreless in the top of the second, the Ducks were relentless in the next two innings. by Chris Amato Sharks take this one to start their Columbus Day Tournament with a 7-3 victory. pic.twitter.com/GgyjaxzZLf — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 12, 2019 Despite a shaky start, the Sharks Academy scratched out a 7-3 victory over the Long Island Titans to kick off their Columbus Day Tournament. The Sharks gave up a few runs in the first but were able to limit the damage and rally back for 7 runs. The story for the Sharks ended up being their starting pitcher, Michael O’Grady. After giving up a few runs in the first it seemed that maybe it just didn’t happen to be his day on the mound. However, after finishing the inning and regaining his poise, Michael seemed dominant for the remainder of the game. He pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits while compiling 5...
