Photo Credit: Vinny Messana Old Westbury padded their resume a little more with another easy win–this time an 11-3 rout of John Jay to improve to 19-8.Nick Schoen started and went six innings–he allowed one ER and struck out five batters for the win. The game was close in the fifth inning when Nick Yip hit his fifth home run of the season to open up a 3-1 lead. Christian Faust opened the game up with a two-run double in the seventh inning. Faust finished with three hits and two RBI. Michael Cardino had two hits and drove in two. Old Westbury Wins On Senior Night in 10 Innings

It took 10 innings, and it included eight errors and 17 hits but the Panthers won 5-4 on an RBI single by the red-hot Tommy Zeigen. Old Westbury starter Tyler Kapela was terrific–he allowed one ER in six innings, struck out three and walked one. He did not factor in the decision. Nick Dorcean came on in relief in the seventh and struck out six in four shutout innings. By Jesse Borek PATCHOGUE, NY — Staying undefeated in Skyline Conference play thus far this season, the St. Joseph’s Golden Eagles stunned the Old Westbury Panthers to sweep the doubleheader on the back of a four-run, ninth-inning comeback in the opener. After the shock of scoring four runs in their final at-bat in the nine-inning opener, the Golden Eagles would finish off the Panthers 4-1 in the backend of the cap, moving to 5-0 in Conference play. Six-Run Sixth Powers Old Westbury Past Mount St. Vincent’s

Photo Credit: Vinny Messana Tommy Zeigen broke a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning with an RBI double to right field to give the Old Westbury Panthers a 4-3 lead over Mount St. Vincent’s. The Panthers added five more runs to put the game away and improve to 7-2 on the season.Tyler Kapela recorded the win with five innings, allowing three ER, four hits and three walks while striking out four. He was relieved by Vinny Bieniek, Nick Schoen and Justin Mize who combined for four shutout innings.The offense compiled 14 hits–Eddie Hernandez, Jonathan Pagan, Christian Faust, Michael Cardino and Zeigen all recorded two hits.Faust and Nick Yip both drove in two runs.The teams will play again in the second game of the twin bill. 

Caleb Olsen Dominant in Old Westbury’s Fourth Straight Win

They won their third straight game there–and fourth overall–with an 11-1 victory over John Jay.They got on the board early and often. Christian Faust drove a two-run double to RF to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead. Before the inning was over, they added four more runs–highlighted by Nick Yip‘s third home run of the young season. He tied Anthony Orsano for the program record with 11 career home runs. That was all Caleb Olsen would need. He threw five dominant innings, allowing only one run on one hit, walking two while striking out three. He needed only 64 pitches.
