by Chris Prystupa Championship Sunday continued at Plainedge Park as the Massapequa Cyclones became the ECYB 11U Spring League Grand Slam Champions with their victory over the New York Valor this afternoon. The Massapequa Cyclones offense got it started right off the bat in the first inning with a barrage of hits in their turn to bat. Land and Henchy doubled, and Weiss and Steck singled paired nicely with two walks to help the Cyclones jump out to an early 5-0 lead. The Valor would go quietly in their turn up at bat in the next inning. The Cyclones continued to fire on all cylinders offensively as Weiss, Henchy, and Land continued their big days with more hits including a double, some walks, and a few singles extending their lead over the Valor to 9-0 in the second inning.
