Dowling Wins Three of Four From Mercy

We covered the win on Friday night, in which Cody McParland threw seven innings and the offense racked up 17 hits. They won the second game by the score of 10-5 on Saturday. Brendan Butler improved to 5-1, but it was not his most dominating effort of the season. Photo Credit: Vinny Messana The Dowling Golden Lions stayed hot with an easy 10-4 win over Bloomfield in the first game of a double header on Sunday. They got out to an early 2-0 lead in the second inning on a bases loaded walk by Dylan Piscitelli, followed by an RBI single by Chris Appell.They employed a pitcher-by-committee method as Cody McPartland started and threw three shutout innings. He was relieved by Nick Persad, who contributed two shutout innings. Thomas Bashen allowed 3 ER in his 1.2 innings but Robert Rose closed the door with 0.1 innings.The difference in the game was a five-run fourth inning by the Golden Lions.
