From the beginning of this game, Seaford’s offense was clicking on all cylinders. Tim Saulpaugh drove in the game’s first run on a sacrifice fly in the top of the 1st. Saulpaugh finished 2-3 on the day with 2 RBI. “We were seeing the ball well and we kept hitting the ball hard staying calm and relaxed getting a lot of guys on base,” said Saulpaugh. “In the field we played very nice didn’t make many errors and we looked very good today in our season opener,” he added. This week the stage is set for the Suffolk County Class AA semifinals. Due to the suspended game on Friday between No. 2 Ward Melville-No. 9 Smithtown East, they will play tomorrow (weather pending) for the chance to play No. 4 West Islip on Tuesday in the first game of a best-of-three series.
