Gameday USA Super Regionals Comes to Long Island
Register today for the 2019 Gameday USA Super Regionals Youth Tournament Showcase (being run in affiliation with MAX EFFORT BASEBALL) being played in Long Island JUNE 28 – JUNE 30th. All of the Teams Players (in all age groups) will have the opportunity to be identified by Gameday USA Scouts that tournament weekend; to be picked to play for the 2019/2020 JR ALL-AMERICAN Games hosted in Florida and Arizona by Gameday USA. Register for Meet the Scout Day
On June 5 we will be hosting ‘Meet the Scout Day’ in conjunction with Max Effort Baseball. The event will be open to the public, will begin at 6:30pm and tickets will cost $40. Who Were the Top Players in Attendance at Monday’s Showcase
On Monday, 67 players and 24 coaches braved the cold and made the trek to Massapequa for the Diamond Spikes Showcase. Plenty of talented players were in attendance and I wanted to do a recap of the event with the top 10 players, but I couldn’t limit it to 10 so here it goes… Robbie Manetta, Farmingdale (2020) Manetta put himself on the map as a freshman hitting a three-run home run at Port Washington. He’s continued to develop and he is one of the best players in the 2020 class when you consider the full package; he’s a catcher, he has a smooth left-handed swing, he can run a 4.1 down the line and he can still grow. Batting 1.000 Host Clinic With Edgardo Alfonzo & Brent Strom
by Andrew Giantasio There was a unique opportunity today for young students of the game of baseball at the JMF sports center in Westbury hosted by Batting 1.000. The opportunity was to spend the afternoon learning hitting from former All-Star and current Brooklyn Cyclones manager, Edgardo Alfonzo, and pitching from Brent Strom, the pitching coach for arguably the most successful staff in the major leagues, the Houston Astros. If you are a high school baseball player that is currently uncommitted to a college, we have an event for you. On Monday, January 21 we will be co-hosting a College Baseball Showcase at LI Sports Dome in Massapequa beginning at 9am. This event is a must-attend for several reasons. First and foremost, this is an opportunity to get in front of 20+ Division-II and III college coaches during a time of the year you will have their undivided attention. With college starting the next week, this is potentially the last time you can meet the coach before their season starts and their priority is to win games for the 2019 season. We named four freshmen on this year’s All-Long Island team. All four of them are finalists for the 2018 Axcess Baseball Rookie of the Year Award. We will be co-hosting a College Showcase at Ducks Stadium with Pro Game Athletics. In addition to playing in a professional baseball stadium, we will have 20 college coaches in attendance and full social media coverage of the event; including spotlights on the top players in the attendance.
