Adelphi Hurler Faces Difficult Obstacle to Return to the Hill

When Chris Lemorocco was on the hill for the Adelphi Panthers in 2014, there was always the sense that he would get the job done. The freshman did a terrific job of attacking the strike zone and also showing grit when runners were in scoring position. He ranked among the team leaders in ERA, (4.14), games started (5), K/9 (7.7) and innings pitched (37.0). This was as a freshman, so the expectation was that he would make the subtle improvements to take the next step and form a formidable trio with Jonathon Mulford and T.J. Santiago. Unfortunately, things don’t always go as planned. The hurler tore his UCL ligament shortly after the season and had ligament replacement surgery (Tommy John) on June 3, 2014. The game plan was that he would not rush it and sit out for the duration of the 2...

BODYARMOR: The Sports Drink of Choice for Baseball Players All Over the Island

When looking for a sports drink to keep you hydrated and provide great flavor, I stumbled upon BODYARMOR. The bottle alone got my attention due to its vibrant and eccentric colors, much more attention-grabbing than that of other notable sports drinks. What makes it great is that it is infused with electrolytes, coconut water and vitamins. This means that it is much healthier than drinks that are laced with sugar simply to taste good. Then, you take a sip of the drink and you’re amazed how soothing it is. The first time I tried the beverage, I had Fruit Punch. It is not thick and filling like other sports drinks or extremely sweet. It makes it the perfect soft drink for athletes or bodybuilders. There are seven flavors: Fruit Punch, Orange Mango, Strawberry Banana, Tropical Punch, Gra...

Q & A With Peter Kritikos, Head Coach of MVP Beast

After competing this year as a 13U team, the MVP Beast were ranked No. 23 in the nation–a very impressive feat for a northeast team. Our reporter Eric Moskowitz had the opportunity to speak with him and here’s what he had to say. Coming into this year, were you expecting your team to be nationally ranked at the end of this year?  When we were listed as honorable mention, just behind the top-25, I did expect if we had a good season that there was a chance we could crack the top-25. With the three new additions we made to the 2014 team and our original roster getting bigger, stronger and working hard I knew there was a shot if we had the results on the field. Does it give you more pride that your the only northeast team to be ranked in this age group? Being the only ranked team i...
