Under Head Coach Paul Paino, they have won seven Nassau County Class B title–including five of the past six. He has won 392 games, meaning he will likely achieve that feat this season. They finished 25-5 last season, before having their season ended in the Long Island Championship by Center Moriches–the eventual Class B New York State Champs. Will Feil Commits to Albany

One of the top bats in the class of 2018 is now off the board with Will Feil (Wheatley 2018) committing to the University at Albany this evening. The third baseman with a sweet left-handed swing really rose his stock with a tremendous 2017 campaign in which he led Wheatley to the Class B Nassau County Championship over Oyster Bay. He went 3-for-3 in that game with three separate RBI hits. He also performed well this summer in the tournament and showcase circuit. Albany has shown an affinity towards Long Island players over the years with several of the top players choosing to attend there; notably Stephen Woods (Hills East ’13, San Francisco Giants draft pick). Feil will be with us in our inaugural Home Run Derby on September 9 at NYIT for Team Fontana.

The LHP was in good spirits despite the grim news that he would miss the remainder of his senior season. “I’m grateful to have had it done by the best,” said Deodato. “I’ll do whatever I can to step back on that mound and be even better than who I was before the operation,&#...

Who is Antonio Deodato?

by Vinny Messana During the prime years of the New York Yankees dynasty, they relied heavily on southpaw Andy Pettitte in Game 3’s of postseason series. Manager Joe Torre noted that this was almost always the most important game because the series was tied 1-1 often times, and this game was critical in determining the momentum of the series. Over the course of his young career, Antonio Deodato, has proven to be that caliber of pitcher–someone that the team has the utmost confidence to win crucial games. “I take a lot of pride in pitching must win games. It means that my coaches and teammates believe in me and are confident in me to get the job done and that’s getting us the win,” he said. Despite not getting some of the hoopla that the other stars of the 2017 ...
