The St. Joseph’s Golden Eagles had everything going right for them on Sunday as they took two 7-0 wins over Maritime. The pitching was stellar and the top of the order was electric.These two conference wins were huge for the Golden Eagles as they move to 13-7 on the season with a 7-1 conference record. These two teams will presumably be battling for the Skyline Conference up to the end of the season. You couldn’t have asked the top of the Golden Eagles’ order to be more productive in game one. After the shock of scoring four runs in their final at-bat in the nine-inning opener, the Golden Eagles would finish off the Panthers 4-1 in the backend of the cap, moving to 5-0 in Conference play. The players were Jack Parenty (Stony Brook), Angelo Navetta (Molloy), Anthony Bonilla (St. Joseph’s), Mike Marino (Farmingdale) and Steven Foster (Hofstra). After one day, Parisi had garnered 68% of the vote and appeared to be sailing to the finish line, but overnight the St. Joseph’s crowd went to work. After two losses, they were able to come out victorious 6-4 against Elms in a seven-inning game. The offense came to play–they smashed 12 hits with Nick Girardi leading the way with three of those.
