Photo Credit: Farmingdale State Athletics After winning three of four this weekend, Farmingdale State is back in the mix in the Skyline Conference playoff picture. We covered the DH on Saturday in which they split with Mount St. Vincent’s. After losing the first game 19-8, they responded by winning the next three games this weekend.  On Sunday afternoon, they shutout Purchase 10-0 in the first game. They smacked 20 hits and held them to two. The game was over in the first inning after the Rams took a 6-0 lead. Incredibly, Purchase’s starting pitcher threw a complete game while allowing 20 hits. Domenic Palumbo and Matteo Gaudio were particularly cruel to him, both compiling four hits. Anthony Alvino, Mike Marino and Kenneth Johntry both had two hits. Matt Seelinger recorded t...

Alvino led off the ninth with a single off closer Mitch D’Amato but the Rams were unable to spark a rally as D’Amato ret...

Farmingdale Beats Denison 3-2

Photo Credit: Farmingdale Athletics The trips to Florida have historically not gone too well for the Farmingdale Rams. They’ve had some rough beginnings to their seasons. They generally straighten it out right after they get back to NY.This season was no different, they began 1-4, but they did defeat Denison 3-2 this afternoon in Port Charlotte, Fla.They were up 3-0 in the top of the fourth, thanks to an RBI ground off the bat of Nick Osburn, a passed ball on a strikeout while Osburn was batting and an RBI triple by Anthony Alvino. The bats went silent after that, but luckily the combination of Kevin Cashman and Ryan O’Connor were up to the task of shutting down the opposition. Cashman tossed the first four innings, allowing two ER while striking out three batters. O’Conno...
